Breaking tradition: Discover the heartfelt note Kate Middleton penned to royal fans

When someone we admire faces a challenge, it’s only natural to want to find ways to send our love and support to them.

It’s also heartwarming if they respond to our efforts—making us feel seen.

One member of the Royal Family strayed away from tradition and showed her love to her fans and supporters in a bold move.

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, personally thanked her supporters during a challenging time.

The tradition-breaking gesture has been received with surprise and admiration, highlighting the Princess's modern approach to her role.

The Kensington Palace correspondence team has been busy sending out thank you cards to individuals who have sent their well-wishes to the Princess as she courageously faces her health battles.

The Princess shared an emotional video message in late March, revealing her early-stage cancer treatment and expressing the difficulties faced by her family during this period.

Despite the challenges, she assured the public she is 'well and getting stronger every day'.

The royal family is known for its adherence to tradition, especially in communication with the public.

Typically, the Palace sends out cards for special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas in response to messages from royal fans.

This time, the thank you notes were direct responses to the outpouring of support for Kate's health.

One recipient took to social media to share her gratitude for the unexpected note.

Mum Allex Marie posted an image of the card, which featured the Palace's letterhead and a simple yet touching message.

The message read:

'Thank you for your kind well wishes to Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales. Your thoughtful gesture is very much appreciated.'

Despite the absence of a photograph—usually included in royal correspondence—Allex still appreciated the note the Princess sent.

‘Back in January when we were informed our beautiful Princess of Wales had undergone surgery I sent her a card with our (my family and I) sincerest best wishes for healing and of course an abundance of love,’ she wrote on an X (formerly Twitter) post.

‘Today I received this beautiful acknowledgement and I can honestly say I shall treasure this my entire life.’

She also recounted her husband's mistaken excitement over a potential invitation to a royal party. However, both Allex and her husband were moved by the personal acknowledgment from the Palace.

The Princess's health has been a topic of much speculation and concern among the public, with conspiracy theories and rumours circulating online about her absence following surgery earlier in the year.

A former Palace aide told the media about the 'complex reaction' from the public.

Despite not having any malice, the situation reflected the intense scrutiny and thirst for information that comes with being a modern royal.

In a show of solidarity and support, King Charles, who has faced his own health issues, has praised his daughter-in-law for her bravery.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also extended their well wishes, emphasising the importance of privacy and peace during this time.

The Princess's personal thank you note is a testament to her grace and strength in adversity.

It also signifies a more personal approach to monarchy—one that values direct engagement with the public.

As the Princess continues her treatment and recovery, the support from royal fans is sure to be a source of comfort and encouragement.

We extend our thoughts and best wishes to the Princess of Wales during her recovery.

I am a true royalist and admire the dignity of Catherine Princess of Wales. I wish people stop addressing her by her maiden name! May she soon recover to full health and continue to grace us with her amazing work to the community. I sent Catherine a card and hope she will have the opportunity of seeing it in person with so many writing to her. It is nice to be remembered and when I was first diagnosed with cancer, I received an incredibly beautiful and VERY large bunch of flowers from my former colleagues when I worked overseas. It was so big I had to go and buy a big vase ☺️

I too am a royalist, I admire how Catherine Princess of Wales is dealing with what must be a horrible thing to go through, I wish both King Charles and Princess Catherine all the best and hope they are able to be free of cancer. My thoughts also go to Sarah Ferguson who has and is again dealing with cancer.

I am also a lifelong Royalist and both the Princess of Wales and King Charles have my sympathies, as I know from personal experience how awefull a Cancer diagnosis and Chemotherapy treatment can be, I especially sympathise with Sarah the former Duchess of York who like myself is once again dealing with the effects of Cancer and the resulting treatment after a second diagnosis.

I was rather angry that because of people not accepting her wishes to get well in private, she in a sense was forced to do the video. The amount of dreadful speculation and rumours in different forums was dreadfuL My thoughts are may she recover and get into remission and be able to thrill us all with her poise and grace and lovely smile. 😍💖🙏s

Pardon me for asking, but how far behind the times do you folk like to be. This really is outrageous.

Good grief! When will people stop calling Catherine, The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton. She is not Kate Middleton and hasn’t been since the day she married and became wife of Prince William (known in the services as William Wales), the Duke of Cambridge and she became the Duchess of Cambridge. With King Charles now on the throne they are the Prince and Princess of Wales. They don’t use a surname. Royals never have except in very rare cases. Get it right please.

Agreed! Some people seem to think that they have a right to know every detail
I am indifferent to being a royalist or republican but sincerely wish all the best to them and anyone dealing with any form of cancer. My husband had cancer an it is abhorrent

I am fed up with people who seem to think that they have a right to know every detail of HRH’s illness and treatment even though they wouldn’t understand most of the medical details. It’s private. It’s her personal health and she has shared more than any other royal due to the pressure that these people put on her. The last thing she needs is stress from gawkers. So LEAVE HER ALONE!

I guess it was also the fact that there hospital staff speculated in her health by illegally accessing her medical. They might have sold this to the media therefore Catherine had to be quick on the mark to tell about her health condition herself. Imagine her children finding out about their mother ill with cancer before she could say anything. It makes me angry to the core that scrupulous people will sell anything and behave like vultures with no respect to little children. May these three hospital staff be sent “to the Tower” and be welcomed by Hades asap !!!

You’re absolutely right about using Catherine’s maiden name non stop. Especially American reporters get it wrong all the time or those who do not care about the British monarchy and believe them to be just ribbon cutters. If one googles Catherine in Wikipedia, they would be lost for words for the number of titles she has and with these, immeasurable responsibilities like no one else !!! Something else, Catherine is Princess of Wales and not to be addressed Princess Catherine or Princess Kate (rolls eyes) because unfortunately she was not born royal. The same applied to Diana. She was an aristocrat (Lady Diana) but not Princess Diana. This is such an American thing to put Princess in front of girls names because of that horrible actress Julie Andrews and her movies.

I am a royalist and I really hope King Charles and Princess Kate can recover in private. Let everyone leave them alone to journey through the horrid illess of cancer. I hope they both can get into remission. The world's media and other voyeurs should be ashamed of themselves.

Personally, I couldn't give 2 hoots about the British royals, but, how do you know she took the family name? She just married into the House of Coburg-Saxe Gotha to do 1 job and nothing else.

You know that the Royals are human the same as all of us. I think some times people forget that they are.
