Boulangère Potatoes

This delicious Boulangère potatoes recipe is a great way to make sure that you’re getting your daily intake of vegetables! It’s the perfect side dish to add to a Sunday roast or a great main to serve.

This potato recipe is super easy to make and requires just a handful of ingredients. If you’re looking for a simple yet impressive dish to make for yourself or serve your family and friends, the Boulangère potatoes recipe is perfect!


Ingredients:

2 onions, thinly sliced

A few thyme sprigs

2 tablespoons of olive oil

3/4 kilograms of floury potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly by hand or using a food processor

220ml of vegetable stock

In a pan, fry the onions and thyme sprigs in the oil for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 200°C.

Next, spread a layer of potatoes in an oiled gratin dish, then sprinkle with a few onions. Continue layering until all the potatoes and onions are used up, finishing with a layer of potatoes (your preference, really!). Pour the stock.


Lastly, bake in an oven for 50-60 minutes, until the potatoes are well done and the top layer is crisp and golden.

my mum made this dish back in the 50's. nothing new here. i use milk andsprinkle flour in between to thicken it. nice with a bit of cream as well. then cheese on top.
 
I buy 2 kg of mince from ALDI every fortnight and make 6 serves of lasagna and the same of spaghetti bolognaise very cheap meals. And yummy.
