Having lived in SA 5 years ago I can tell you, you are far better off in WA. We pensioners here get lots of govt concessions, water, council, licence, rego, etc, in SA we only got a couple of hundred dollar. We get somewhere that amount as well from Seniors.
Our concessions are every year, not a one off payment.

Me too, we’ve had so much hate thrown at us during Covid and for some strange reason people seem too think we are held to ransom, when the exact opposite is true. We’ve just had another $400 put into our electricity accounts. I don’t have to worry about putting my Aircon on heat as I know how much it costs and I make a point of having money paid to my electricity through Centre Pay every fortnight and have just got my account and after my bill was paid I still have $550 in credit and yes we get a lot more help than most States.

Why doesn't the government realise that these 'one of' payments will really assist pensioners and those on benefits? To be honest, a $50 a fortnight raise would be more substantial in assisting we lower class citizens (of which we are compared to the main public) to cope and manage our lives. I know the government things they are helping us, but one (1) payment a year is birdseed compared to our lives for the rest of the year. The politicians give themselves extremely substantial raises all the time and they should really try living every day on the pittance they expect us to live on. They should come down to our level and live like us for 6 months without all the benefits they get and see how they survive? What they pay us per fortnight is the price of a group luncheon to them and that is what they should think about. Come and live in the real world pollies and actually see how the other half live!!
