Beware when changing electricity retailers

Several years ago my wife and I looked at changing our electrical supplier and a new company ( no longer trading ) gave us a better tariff price so we changed and the next thing we knew our bills were higher. They paid us next to nothing for our solar power and our power bills were dearer. Does anyone know how to compare the two sources of power at the same time when you are comparing and looking to change suppliers and beware changing if you have solar.

I had some one ring me the other day. I asked her what the rates were. She read her notes. I asked her to email me with what she said. It worked out that their rates where much higher than lm paying now. Even with a discount it was still higher than what lm paying. I will stick to the power company lm with. Been with them for years. My rates 31.8 peek 18.1 off peek 4.9 solar

4 months ago the projected cost of my next 3 months Electricity was just a bit higher, yet in November were away for 4 weeks of the bill, Rang AGL and the customer service person was adamant, that was their final rate, well I said After 30 years with AGL, so I used a comparison site and found the bill I just paid could have been $200 cheaper, checked their rates and worked out what it should cost rates and it was min $180 cheaper, so I switched Providers.
AGL rang offering me a much cheaper rate, I said I asked to speak to the lady's supervisor, but wouldn't and I told them I told the customer service person have been with AGL since the 1950's parents, then self and then married , couldn't understand being with them that long, Nor what CUSTOMER LOYALTY was, so I changed and now I don't have a good word for them !!!!
