BEWARE: Fake ALDI Fans Facebook page giving away “bags of Christmas essentials”
Since Tuesday, a Facebook post from a fake “ALDI Fans” page has been going around on social media, promising unsuspecting customers the chance to win a bag full of goodies and a $750 shopping voucher from Aldi.
The viral scam has already been shared around 4,000 times since posting and it may possibly reach your Facebook timelines in the following days.

The Facebook page “ALDI Fans” is said to be giving out a bag full of Christmas essentials from the ones left over from their “Christmas sale”, and people “have the chance” to win a “$750 voucher!”
According to the scam, to claim your bags, all you have to do is share the post in any five active Facebook groups you’re in. Once done, the team will ‘validate’ your entry in a few hours.
Sounds too good to be true, right? That’s because it is.
We’re guessing that after their team “validates your entry”, they would send you a link asking for your personal details to “claim your bag”, and after you filled that out, your information would be stolen.
So if you ever encounter the Facebook post we have screenshotted above, along with these photos, watch out because it’s most likely a scam!

A spokesperson from Aldi has already confirmed that the post is a fraudulent scam and is being used to steal personal details from customers.
“We are aware that there is a scam circulating on social media offering an Aldi voucher. Please be aware that this is spam, and not conducted or authorised by Aldi Australia,” said the spokesperson.
“We advise everyone not to interact with these posts. We have reported this issue to Facebook, who are working to resolve this.”
The management behind ALDI Australia made it clear that competitions and giveaways will only be announced on their official social media channels (https://www.facebook.com/ALDI.Australia and https://twitter.com/ALDIAustralia) and on their websites (https://www.aldi.com.au/ and https://competitions.aldi.com.au/).
