Ah, the classic bench-style seat — a relic of a bygone era when cars were simpler and families were bigger. It was a common feature in family sedans of the past, which allowed parents to squeeze in an extra child or two in the front row. It was also a great way to cosy up with your date where you can slide right over and get close! Do you have any memories of cars with bench-style seats?

My first 5 cars all had bench seats 1962 holden 1964 holden 1966 falcon 1967 holden 1974 falcon

I liked to sit right next to my boyfriend with the bench seat in his Holden FJ, cozy !!!

I had an Austin A40 which had 4 on the floor and the gear stick was always in a very inconvenient position for cuddling

My first car was a 37 Ford V8 with a bench seat and a long bent gear stick. There were times I would hit 3rd base every time I shifted from 2nd to 3rd.
