Banish foot odour with these home remedies hiding in your home!

Foot odour can be a pesky and sometimes embarrassing issue, particularly for those who enjoy their morning walks or a spot of gardening.

But fear not, because a doctor has shared a simple and surprising trick to help you say goodbye to smelly feet using items you likely already have in your home.

Dr Joe Whittington has picked up a few tricks of the trade during his time in the medical industry.

He revealed in his two videos that the humble black tea and the minty freshness of mouthwash could be your allies in the battle against foot odour.

The secret lies in the tannic acid found in black tea.

This natural substance can act on sweat glands, reducing their activity and, in turn, the amount of sweat they produce.

Less sweat means less breeding ground for the bacteria that cause that notorious stink.

Here's how you can use black tea to freshen up those feet, according to Dr Whittington:

Brew a strong pot of black tea using two tea bags and boiling water, letting them steep for about 10-15 minutes to draw out the tannins.

Then, dilute this potent brew in one litre of cool water and soak your feet in the mixture for 20 minutes.

For best results, do this daily for a week, and you might just notice your foot odour disappearing.

But what if the problem is a bit more stubborn?

What if you're dealing with an athlete's foot, a common fungal infection that not only causes itching and burning but can also contribute to a less-than-pleasant smell?

‘Mouthwash can fight athlete’s foot,’ Dr Whittington said in his second video.

Yes, the same product you use to keep your breath fresh can also help fight off fungal infections on your feet.

After your shower, soak a cotton ball in mouthwash and swab it across the bottom of your feet and between your toes. Repeat this daily until the fungus cleans up.

Dr Whittington's advice has been making waves online, with his videos garnering thousands of views.

People are intrigued by these simple yet effective home remedies.

‘Wow—the black tea one I never knew,’ one commented.

A nurse also confirmed Dr Whittington’s video, saying, ‘Nurse here—know all this. This is cool for people who don’t know home remedies.’
