AVG renewal scam email​

Today I received an email thanking me for renewing an AVG computer security package for $399.98 - from a GMAIL.COM address. I checked my banks and nothing has been paid and the email specifically states that:- In the event that you require assistance, wish to cancel your order, or require a refund contact: + 61 2 8551 7546. Naturally, if you are worried (as was I) you would call and ask for details and a refund. This is where they ([email protected]) would ask for your bank information for the 'refund' then .... bang! Money gone. I have reported the email to SCAM WATCH. Always check the email address!

Maybe before a person even goes online they should go to classes or whatever to learn the pitfalls of being on the internet and become conversant with what they should be looking out for. All should go to scamwatch and check out the latest scams doing the rounds.
