It resulted in a literal flood, causing chaos at two of the city's central train stations and leaving late-night commuters high and dry, though not in the way they might have hoped.

The flooding was so extensive that it triggered an automated evacuation process, leading to significant train delays and a headache for public transport authorities.
Initially, the incident was attributed to vandalism, but the culprits were not vandals but an 'amorous couple' caught up in the heat of the moment.
After reviewing CCTV footage, transport Infrastructure Minister Danny Pearson revealed the true cause of the flooding.
'I've been advised that Metro (Trains) have reviewed the CCTV footage, and it would appear that an amorous couple in a stairwell dislodged the sprinkler,' he said, with a hint of disbelief.
He added, 'Perhaps a stairwell may not be an appropriate place to find yourself after dinner.
The police, investigating the incident, released security footage of the wanted man and woman earlier this week.
The footage shows the couple entering the stairwell connecting two platforms and fleeing the scene as water cascades around them.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
The search for the couple continues, as does the cleanup and repair of the affected stations.
