Australia's Got Talent

As a rule, I don't watch these kinds of programmes but my SO took a liking to it so decided to watch it with him.
My first beef regarding this programme is the amount of 'foreigners' that apply to be on the show. And by 'foreigners', I mean they don't even live here. Although some of the acts were exceptional, they are not home grown and this, to my understanding, is blocking the chances of actual Australians from getting through. After all, it is called Australia's Got Talent. Maybe they should just rename it to The World's Got Talent and then everyone can apply. There were a few acts that were recognised by Alesha and David (the British judges) as they had also been on Britains Got Talent. We have so much talent in Australia that goes unrecognised and these types of shows are a perfect starting point for some of them. Some of the Australian talent didn't get through because of acts from other countries. And to see one act in particular getting through to the Finals absolutely threw me for a six. A young Indigenous girl didn't make it through which was a shame as she had a beautiful voice but a Brazilian act did and we didn't even find him the slightest bit amusing. Maybe it was the crying that got him through, I don't know. But my main beef regarding these kinds of programmes is the voting system. The judges decide who is going to go through to the semi finals and finals but it's up to the rest of Australia to vote for the winner. Why do we even bother with actual judges?? I live in Western Australia and all week we have been seeing the ads on TV about which number to call to vote for which act. AGT Final hadn't even been broadcast in Perth when I checked social media and found out the winner had already been chosen. This was at 6pm Perth Time. So if we'd bothered to watch the Final and wanted to vote for a particular act, it really wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference. I knew there was a reason why I don't watch these programmes. :ROFLMAO:
