Aussies are saving money on petrol with this 'Happy Hour' deal

People were pleasantly surprised to see a Sydney petrol station holding a 'happy hour' for their customers in response to the rising cost of living.
A recent announcement made at the Metro service station in St. Mary's, located in Western Sydney, informed customers of a 'Happy Hour' discount of 10 cents per litre.
The deal is good for all of the station's fuel, including diesel, if you buy it between 9 pm and 5 am. (Yes, if you want to save money, you have to go there late at night…)
And since the promo is only advertised at the pump, it seems to be aimed at local customers in the area and those who heard about it from other people.

On an A4 sign that is stuck to the side of the bowser, it says: 'Attention customers, we will have happy hour every night between 9 pm and 5 am whereby prices of Unleaded 91, E10, Premium 98 and diesel will go down by 10 cents per litre on the regular daily price.'
The final part of the announcement wished customers 'happy saving' beside a smiling yellow emoji.
Someone who just so happened to be passing by the area observed an employee put up the sign informing customers of the news. So, he decided to spread the word online to help other people looking for cheap petrol.
But not everyone thought the offer was great.
One person commented that this was nothing more than 'price gouging,' and that it would make perfect sense for petrol prices to drop between the hours of 9 pm and 5 am, given that there are fewer people outside and driving.
Others also mentioned that this was nothing new and that their local Metro Fuel also offered a happy hour before.

According to a spokesperson for Metro Petroleum, it was the franchisee who decided to hold the happy hour at the St. Mary's station.
He went on to say that this was probably done to help give back to the community, as well as to thank clients for their continued patronage.
The spokesperson finished by saying that Metro Fuel makes every effort to share savings with all of its customers, especially now that a lot of Aussies are struggling.
