A Woolworths shopper has sparked a fierce debate on social media after she posted a "random" video of her walking down the aisles of her local store.

Perth circus performer Demi Skinner went viral on TikTok after she shared a video of her walking around the meat and pantry aisles of her local Woolies store on stilts.

Demi said that the now-viral video — which garnered more than 5.6 million views — was filmed in January last year at Cockburn Gateway Shopping City in Perth and was only "randomly" posted on Monday.
The 24-year-old also revealed that she had “accidentally scared some kids shopping there (sic) Dad” as she rounded one corner.
However, she was later on greeted with smiles from kids who were surprised to spot her on stilts.
Although Demi had no ill-intent for performing the stunt in the store, a number of TikTok users called her out for doing this "unnecessary" act.
One person wrote: “That is so off and unnecessary to do in a shop.”
“How is this allowed,” another added.

Others defended Demi, arguing that she was a trained performer so there's no reason for these people to feel "triggered" over the act.
“If I saw this in the store I would be so happy,” one viewer wrote.
Another added: “Dunno why people are being so hateful or bothered by this. This would entertain me if I saw you.”
Demi told news.com.au that she had permission to be there, saying that she had all her public liability insurance.
“No employees were at risk, no-one was at risk. I’ve been walking on stilts for over 10 years, nothing was going to go wrong,” she said.
She also revealed that a number of TikTok users bullied her.
“A lot of them are kind of bullying me in it, saying I’m a weirdo and that it’s so unnecessary that I’m just wanting attention and this and that,” she said.
Although she received some backlash from her stunt, she said that she will not stop performing as long as she receives approval from store authorities.
“Definitely not, I’m hoping it might lead to another shopping centre seeing it and giving me the approval to come in and film at their store because I want to film more stuff in public,” she said.
“I love seeing people’s reactions … kids absolutely love it.”
