'And that's a positive?': Aussies slam ScoMo after spotting him with controversial figures

As the clock struck midnight, many Aussies had their way of ringing the new year in.

Even public figures shared their way of welcoming 2025.

However, former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison set social media abuzz after rubbing shoulders with some of the most intriguing figures for the new year.

Often called ScoMo, the former Australian Prime Minister was seen in a glitzy New Year's Eve party with United States' president re-elect Donald Trump.

The event, held at Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, also had the world's richest person, Elon Musk, and soon-to-be vice president JD Vance in attendance.

The social media sphere buzzed with activity when ScoMo shared a photo of himself and his wife Jenny alongside the Trumps.

Another photo showed ScoMo with Trump, giving his signature thumbs up.

'HNY 2025 from Mar-a-Lago,' ScoMo wrote in the caption, likely expecting a flood of well-wishes.

However, the replies were not quite the pat on the back he hoped for.

Retired radio presenter Neil Mitchell led the charge with a pointed critique.

'And that's a positive?' Mitchell asked.

Other social media users also chimed in and expressed their sentiments.

'As a pastor and Christian, what a disappointment to see you celebrating this ungodly man,' one wrote.

'Congratulations on achieving the remarkable feat of being the most despised individual in Australia!' another exclaimed.

'Do yourself a favour—show a shred of dignity and spare the public the misery of seeing your face,' a third commented.

However, it was not all doom and gloom in the comment section.

Some users congratulated Morrison and expressed their support.

'Congratulations, Mr Morrison! We all like you!' one supporter wrote.

Another supporter encouraged him to enjoy the moment despite the critique he received from the photos.

'Good on you. Where is KRudd? Busy packing his bags?' a commenter wrote humorously, referencing the current Australian Ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd.

The gathering at Mar-a-Lago wasn't just about ringing in the new year; it was a convergence of political powerhouses.

Morrison's presence at the event hinted at his potential political comeback after resigning from politics a year prior and joining American Global Strategies (AGS).

The internet's reaction to Morrison's New Year photos should be a reminder of the nature of politics.

As the world watches Trump's second term unfold, all eyes will be on how these relationships evolve and what they mean for Australia and its future.

I've seen actual video footage of a woman's cat hanging from her next door neighbour's clothesline as he skins it.

I've also seen video footage of men chasing and catching ducks in the local park. They then wring the ducks' necks and carry them home. I don't imagine they use them for anything other than eating.

It always amuses me when people declare something doesn't exist because they haven't seen it, or haven't heard of it before.
You really are loopy. After all Mr Trump keeps talking about fake news. Ever heard of IA. All these pictures came out to support Mr Trumps garbage.

Hope you had a wonderful trip!!
Thanks Vegie my friend and I had a great time there, as usual, though the going and returning were a disaster.
Smarty pants me, who thinks she is pretty up to date on scams got scammed on fake site doing required paperwork before leaving. Despite requesting "official" Indonesian government site we ended up on a fake. Looked very official, they sent all the paperwork, QR codes, etc. Cost us just under $800.🤦‍♀️.
Returning yesterday, firstly our booked cab didn't turn up, flight was delayed by two hours which meant we missed our connecting bus back to Bunbury.
Friends son had to pick us up and put us up for the night so I am currently on the bus, should be in Bunbury to my friend's in a couple of hours. Pick my car up and another couple of hours back to Wagin.
The joys of travelling, lol.

While i agree trump flaunts and propagates AI to suit his own agenda, I consider the NY photos at trumps florida residence true representations of scomos behaviour.
I have seen previous pictures at trumps post election party with others including gina hancock/rhinhart celebrating the blight on american society.

Its interesting to see where and to whom Australian money is invested overseas.

For me scomo will remain the worst pm austrailia has ever had.
He messed with my superannuation, loosing me $37K of which I continue to have the fall out from still. trumps ranting blimp on the market costing me $9k.

As a christian, scomos integrity fell short, elevating himself to stand in during covid crisis, taking extra payment for leadership reppresentation just in case it was needed and without liberal party consent.
Who knows what other financial benefits scomo picked for himself in that the Australian Public are unaware.
Scomos ethics havent changed, they just continue to be exposed as are trumps.

Both disgust me.

I think you mean AI, and anyone who vilifies someone for holding an opinion which differs from theirs, is to be pitied.

When an opinion is based on bullshit and misinformation, it is open to ridicule and cop it on the chin.

Better still, research your claims properly before stating imaginary or computer generated hogwash.

I've seen actual video footage of a woman's cat hanging from her next door neighbour's clothesline as he skins it.

I've seen numerous videos and images which have been declared fake. Take, for example, the AI generated image of a dead Gazan infant lying on a trolley, covered in blood. It was later declared as being a photo of a dead dog in a vet surgery and digitally altered.

Please save yourself the time and energy you devote to commenting on my comments. I take absolutely no notice of anything you have to say, and I think it's sad that you find it necessary to respond to people in the way you do. Why are you so angry, and what are you so afraid of that you find it necessary to attempt to tear others down if their opinion differs from yours?

I will say it again, just for you.

I do not have opinions, only views, which are mostly backed by verifiable evidence, not some hearsay or gossip, conspiracy blogs and fake news.

Now run off, or you will be late for the service at the Church of The Order of St Charbel.
