Amazon Australia is stepping up its game, announcing a significant expansion of its Prime Free One-Day Delivery service.
This move is set to revolutionise the online shopping experience for customers in these cities, offering them unparalleled convenience and speed.
The expansion means customers in Brisbane, Geelong, Gosford, Newcastle, and Wollongong can now enjoy free one-day delivery on over a million products.
The range of eligible items is vast, encompassing everything from pantry staples and household essentials to personal care items, electronics, books, beauty products, and more.
Identifying eligible items is a breeze, thanks to the 'Prime Free One-Day' or 'Prime One-Day' icon visible on the Amazon app or Amazon.com.au.
The best part? There's no minimum spend required, and orders placed by midnight will arrive the next day.
Matthew Benham, the General Manager of Amazon Australia, emphasised the company's commitment to enhancing the value of Prime in Australia.
'When customers shop online, they want to know they are getting a great price and that their order will be delivered to them fast, with no additional costs,' he said.
'Prime members in most areas of Sydney and Melbourne have already been enjoying this service, and we are thrilled to be able to offer Prime members in these additional locations access to the service.'
The company also expressed its hopes to expand the service further in the future.
For those outside the eligible postcodes, Amazon still offers free delivery in two days on eligible orders.
Amazon Australia's ability to offer such delivery times is due to its investment in six fulfilment centres across the country.
One of these is located in Lytton, in Brisbane's east, a facility that's the same size as two Rugby League fields and can house more than 1.5 million items from Amazon.
'By building fulfilment centres and delivery stations close to where our customers live and work, packages travel shorter distances, which enables us to speed up delivery,' Benham explained.
