AMAZING: This Aussie scored a $40 scotch fillet steak for only $2 at her local Woolies

A young woman posted a photo on Facebook of her $40 scotch fillet, which she bought for less than $2 at Woolworths Coles (edit: as reported by several members, this was at Coles, not Woolies - sorry for the error).

How? She kept her eye out for meat with a ‘quick sale’ sticker during her recent shop.

The young woman posted a picture of the Drovers Choice branded beef and its incredible $1.95 price tag on Facebook. Photo from Facebook.

The original price of the scotch fillet was $39.12, but it was reduced up to three times before the bargain hunter added it to her grocery cart.

And even though the meat had a use-by date of November 1, the same day the shopper bought it, she wasn’t worried.

The Facebook photo of the Drovers Choice meat gained over 600 reactions.

She captioned the post with, “Great score tonight!”

Comments flooded in from people all over Australia, both amazed and infuriated by the astounding find.

“We can't even get $2 off products on the ‘best before’ day here in Merrylands,” a Sydney woman complained.

“Great find, no discount like that in Moe,” said a woman from Victoria.

Another woman from Melbourne agreed, “Never see these prices in Geelong.”

“Never in Wagga Wagga!” A woman from NSW added.

Other users congratulated her on the bargain.

“You win, well done!” One user wrote.

Another added: “Bargain! Great pick up!”

“Legendary, you are my new idol.” A third user commented.

Let’s just hope she cooks all that steak sooner rather than later or throws it in the freezer, or else it would go bad quickly! Ah, if only great deals like this one could be found everywhere!

Get the story right, I'm pretty sure its Coles not Woolies that sell drovers choice meat but it is very good price, however you need to be Johnnie on the spot to get these specials or just live at the supermarket waiting for goods to be discounted.

Yes Coles, and it should not have been available for sale as it was purchased on the day of use by. ( Yes, i know the product would have still been fine, but it is company policy ).
