Allison Langdon's 'horrible' hydrofoiling accident could be her lucky break!

Accidents can happen at any time, no matter how cautious we are. And sometimes, these accidents can lead to big changes in our lives – even if they’re not always positive ones.
Take, for example, the recent hydrofoiling accident of one of our favourite television personalities, Allison Langdon.
The Today host suffered some serious injuries after falling off her hydrofoil while filming a segment for the show back in February 2021.
'I snapped the leg, I did the kneecap, I did the ligaments. I shattered the kneecap, snapped the leg, did the PCL, the meniscus... The tibia snapped. It was pretty horrible,’ recalled Allison.
Despite undergoing surgery and physical therapy, Allison is still in pain and has been told by her doctor that she won’t be fully recovered for another 12 months.
It’s a tough situation to be in, but luckily Allison is remaining positive and looking on the bright side.
In fact, it seems that this horrible accident may have led to even more good fortune for her – namely, that she may have scored a hosting gig on A Current Affair!
There has been much speculation in the past few weeks about who will take over from Tracy Grimshaw as the new host of ACA, and it seems that Allison Langdon has emerged as the favourite.
One theory as to why this may be the case is that Channel Nine is looking to ‘mitigate any future compensation payout’ to Allison by giving her the high-paying ACA gig.
Of course, this news is still yet to be confirmed, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that it all works out for Allison. She’s a fantastic presenter, and we know she would be great in the role.
