Akta-vite

Who else remembers Akta-Vite? Some convinced their parents to buy this instead of Milo—only to realise it didn’t taste as good as expected! That first sip was a surprise, but some clever folks found ways to make it work, like sprinkling it over ice cream.

We used to have Acta-vite in hot milk every day. As a treat we were able to eat a few tea spoons out of the can. At school for morning milk time some students would bring Acta-vite in foil and added it to the milk bottle to give a little flavour. Ah times past!

Akta-Vite tasted way better & more cholatey, in hot or cold milk, than Milo.
Then the makers changed formula when health star ratings were coming out which tasted awful, lost market share & went out of production. Shot themselves in the foot there! What a waste.

On the way home from State School in Melbourne's rainy cold winter days, I would always call into our local Chemist shop to get a FREE little sachet of Acta Vite so that I could have a nice hot drink when I got home. We only lived about 100 yards away from our local Chemist and my mum knew him very well, and me also as a young boy. He was a great man and extremely friendly to everyone and he always had a display stand on his front counter with Free sachet bags of Acta Vite. Everyday it was cold and rainy I would call in and ask for one of these, and he never said no to me. What a Guy, thanks again Mr Benton.:)(y)

When are people going to enjoy something without looking for all the negatives? ActaVite was great as a drink, in helping you get some sleep and on bread and butter. Go back to your young years when these know-alls weren't even born and think of all we did that according to them should have KILLED us. Health freaks must live miserable lives.
