Abandoned House Found Frozen in Time, With Full Wardrobes and Newspapers From 1992

There's a certain kind of unsettling atmosphere that can be found in abandoned places, particularly abandoned homes, which were once the most private and intimate environment for a family…

Although many of you probably don't give them much thought, there are people out there who are naturally attracted to exploring these forgotten places.

Take, for example, the recent footage uploaded by a group calling themselves 'urban explorers' showing the inside of an eerie abandoned house complete with discarded furniture, old garments, cassette recordings, and even an ancient Alfa Romeo covered in dust.

In a video posted to the Abandoned Australia channel on YouTube, the team can be seen entering a two-story home that appears to have been abandoned rather suddenly by its former inhabitants.

We wonder why…

It was nearly impossible for the urban explorers to roam and move around on the floor because it was so heavily covered with dust, boxes, chairs, and magazines.

The explorers reported finding a variety of artefacts from the 1970s all the way through the 1990s. There were also old sketches, framed images, floppy discs, televisions, boots, films, and newspapers from 1992.

On the other side of the house, the kitchen was stocked to the brim with food still sealed in its original containers as well as unused bowls, plates, and cups.

They also looked inside the refrigerator, where they discovered jars of condiments and juice that had been infested with bugs.

'Oh my god, look at all the whipped cream,' one of the crew said.

It’s surprising how so much of the previous owners' belongings were still there, even though the house had supposedly been abandoned years, if not decades.

On the second floor, there were vintage suits and clothes stored in the wardrobes, and the bedrooms themselves were a total disaster area. There was very little space to move about, and the old, yellowed beds were a major eyesore.

In the background, one person can be heard asking, 'How is this real?'

After watching the video, several users took to the comments section to share their theories regarding what took place and the reasons why the house was deserted.

One of them speculated that the residents may have gone into witness protection and were then suddenly 'whisked away' without the opportunity to bring their belongings with them.

'You can't take any personal items with you. It'd be heart-breaking not being able to take photos or other personal items,' they wrote.

Another agreed with the 'witness protection' theory, and said: 'I second witness protection or similar urgent evacuation.'

A third user, however, argued that the previous owners were probably seniors who went into nursing homes. 'You see that happens a lot when older people go into nursing homes and the family just forgets and moves on,' they said.

'It's sad these homes are beautiful and have memories. It's a shame to see them just be abandoned.'

What do you think, folks? Do you have any idea what might have happened to the former owners? Or should we instead chalk this up to 'supernatural' occurrences? Leave a comment below and let us know your theory!

Perhaps one may have passed & the other taken into care, leaving no relatives.
You can tell the age of occupants by the style of clothes left behind.
One can go through the legal process to find out the original owners, & missing persons can be sought, or living relatives.
I’m surprised the council hasn’t repossessed & sold the house based on outstanding Rates.
Would be wonderful to find out who & where they are.

Wow the possibilities are endless

1. The owner went overseas found their true love and never came back ...

2 is dead in the house somewhere.

3. Died somewhere else.

4. On a longgggggggg holiday and they are paying utilities from far.

I don't think they are in a nursing home as the house would need to be rented out as fees would be higher.

Strange the council isn't chasing up rates , from 1992 that is 30 years worth so would be around $60,000 plus interest so maybe no 4.

Wish we knew the address then we could dig further🤔

Someone somewhere is missing out on a fair chunk of change as they don't know they have inherited a home. I would be doing some property searches to find out who the current owner is and if nobody could be found would be telling a homeless family to move in and start to pay all the bills. Live in it for 10, 15, 20 years or whatever the rules are and you've got yourself a huge leg up.:)

I think it’s a family that has been involved with drugs and have been murdered and their bodies dumped somewhere and the house and car been ransacked for the money or the drugs!!!

Looks like it has been vandalised. Surely the local council could shed some light. Hope so. How curious.

Are you kidding? 1992, that’s like yesterday, they’ve probs just gone out for the day, and are hoarders, and they’re probs wondering why an intruder appears to have been snooping around while they were out
Now if you were talking about 1952, or 1932…..??
