A royal first: King Charles invites Donald Trump in historic gesture

Royal watchers, history buffs, and anyone who loves a bit of palace intrigue—brace yourselves! King Charles III has just made a move that’s got tongues wagging from Buckingham Palace to Bondi Beach.

In a decision that’s being called 'unprecedented' and 'historic,' His Majesty has extended a formal invitation to none other than US President Donald Trump for a state visit to the United Kingdom later this year.

And this isn’t just any old royal tea party—this is a royal first!

Donald Trump is now officially scheduled for an ‘unprecedented’ state visit to the United Kingdom later this year.

King Charles III has formally extended an invitation to the US President and First Lady Melania Trump, with Buckingham Palace confirming on Monday that the invitation was accepted.

The royal couple—King Charles and Queen Camilla—will host Mr Trump and Mrs Trump at Windsor Castle for two days, from September 17 to 19. The visit marks a significant royal gesture that has reportedly never before been extended to any other world leader.

Typically, second-term presidents do not receive another full state visit. During their respective second terms, both Barack Obama and George W. Bush were invited only for tea at Windsor Castle.

‘His Majesty has known President Trump for many years and looks forward to hosting him and the First Lady later this year,’ a Buckingham Palace aide told the BBC back in June, after members of the British Embassy reportedly delivered the official invitation to the White House.

Mr Trump’s last official visit to the UK took place in 2019, when he was welcomed by the late Queen Elizabeth II for a state visit.

He addressed the latest invitation in characteristic style during a media appearance in April.

‘They’re going to do a second, as you know, a second fest … that’s what it is: a fest, and it’s beautiful, and it’s the first time it’s ever happened to one person,’ he said.

‘And the reason is we have two separate terms, and it’s an honour … I’m a friend of Charles, I have great respect for King Charles and the family, William, we have really just a great respect for the family. ‘And I think they’re setting a date for September.’

Originally, the pair were expected to meet informally over the summer, but scheduling conflicts prevented it.

Talks around the visit reportedly began in February, when Mr Trump met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Washington. During that meeting, Mr Starmer handed the President a letter in the Oval Office.

Mr Starmer later told the press it included an offer for an ‘unprecedented second state visit.’

‘This is really special. This has never happened before. Unprecedented,’ he said.
‘I think that just symbolises the strength of the relationship between us.
‘I think the last state visit was a tremendous success. His Majesty the King wants to make this even better than that. So, this is truly historic.’

‘The answer is yes,’ Trump responded.

It’s no secret that King Charles and Donald Trump have crossed paths before. Trump’s last official visit to the UK was in 2019, when the late Queen Elizabeth II hosted him for a state visit.

This time, however, the invitation comes directly from King Charles, who seems keen to put his own stamp on the monarchy’s relationship with the United States.

Trump, never one to shy away from the limelight, spoke about the invitation in his signature style: 'They’re going to do a second, as you know, a second fest … that’s what it is: a fest, and it’s beautiful, and it’s the first time it’s ever happened to one person,' he told reporters.

'And the reason is we have two separate terms, and it’s an honour … I’m a friend of Charles, I have great respect for King Charles and the family, William, we have really just a great respect for the family.'

Trump is a fool, a court jester, unable to logically understand just how much he and his cronies are loathed around the world. Not even is own wife can stand him.
If King Chales is pandering to this moron, or is even mates with him, this holds a spotlight above the King and what he is really like.
There used to be an alliance, but not so much anymore. There is too much dislike for that idiot Trump.

Queen Elizabeth would be turning in her grave !!

Maybe Charles could also invite Albo and this way Albo would get his meeting with Trump.
Hopefully Charles can put in a good word for us regarding the tariffs!!
Charlie doesn’t give a damn about his own family why would he put a word in for us !

That narcissistic man is also so stupid he has to repeat his ignorant comments more than once in one sentence. Does he think we cannot understand him? No, he just does not know how to speak as the leader of such a large, important country which, unfortunately, he is ruining and running into the ground. He will be the sole cause of World War 3 with his remarks, threats and actions. I sincerely hope he does not know it’s location, and does not have his finger on that button. If you haven’t guessed yet - I have a gross hatred for him and have to lower my eyes when his face comes on TV. I have (first) cousins who have lived in the US all their lives who say he is the worst president that country has ever had.

Trump has always dreamed of having a "grand parade" with him being in a horse drawn carriage. He asked the late Queen for one when he visited but she said no. It makes me wonder if Charles will offer him one especially considering the French president had one when he visited recently

OMG! Trump in the UK again?! He'll make a complete idiot of himself, as is his usual. Remember last time when he walked ahead of the Queen? Disrespectful, but then, he knows nothing about respect, diplomacy, protocol etc. He is an absolute classless moron, imbecile and the laughing stock of the world with his behaviour. I cannot stand to look at his ugly face or hear his voice any longer. And what about the 'accordion ' hands?! He even made an idiot of himself at the World Cup the other day in New Jersey. His stupidity and narcissism knows no bounds!
