A ‘cute’ mistake: This Temu slow cooker leaves home cook dismayed

The thrill of finding a bargain online can sometimes be too good to resist.

For many, the convenience of online shopping has transformed the way we purchase everything from clothing to kitchen appliances.

However, as one home cook discovered, not every deal is as it seems.

A home cook thought they had struck gold when they stumbled upon an incredibly cheap slow cooker on the discount online retailer Temu.

The excitement of snagging such a deal was palpable, and the anticipation of slow-cooked stews and casseroles filled their thoughts as they awaited the delivery.

But when the package arrived, the dream deal quickly turned into a comical disappointment.

It turned out that the slow cooker was not designed to feed a hungry family or even a single individual.

Instead, it was a miniature, dollhouse-sized appliance fit only for the tiniest of pretend kitchens.

Upon revisiting the website, our member realised the error: the item description had not been read thoroughly.

Despite the initial dismay, our member managed to see the humorous side of the ‘cute’ mistake.

The online community had a field day with the story, with hundreds finding amusement in the mix-up.

'Is that for dieting?' one asked.

'But does it work? Looks like it will melt a chocolate chip or two. That's always handy,' another joked.

'Put a magnet on it and slap it on your refrigerator,' a third suggested.

'It would have cost like a dollar, do you really think you were getting a full-size working one?' a fourth said.

'This is why you have to read product details. You can't tell product size from a picture,’ one warned.

The price paid for the miniature slow cooker wasn't disclosed, but similar items online typically cost between $2 and $10.

In a similar story, a Kmart shopper received her online order but was surprised to see a blunder in her order.

She shared this error on social media, prompting surprised and amused reactions from other users.

But what was the error in question? Find out by reading the story here.

Lucky they can send it back.

I've purchased alot from temu and 75% of the time I'm happy.

They accept easy to do free returns but most of the time they offer your choice of either a refund or credit and tell you to keep the item , which I then either give away or donate to charity.

I never order electricals on line except from well know Australian companies

I,ve used Temu, all good so far. One thing to watch out for is they advertise something but it's not what they are selling, for instance they have a pair of runners in the advert for $5 but when you click on it to see the deal, they are just selling the laces. Not sure if Temu do this, but Ali Exress does.

I have made many purchases with Temu every since they opened I have never had a major problem I have had a couple of times where what I ordered was faulty ie I ordered some 2 way water divierters which leaked very badly.
I took a video of the issue sent it to Temu I was issued a full refund (credit) within a few minutes I was advised that I didn't need to return the fault items just thrown them in the bin.
I have placed several orders with Temu I am extremely satisfied with my purchases, prices and the quality of the products there's is a few items that are not good quality but as I said, overall I am very satisfied with the service and products that I have received.

Yes, with Temu you really have to be careful, a lot of their products are smaller than you realise. They have some good things though.
I get nearly all my art supplies from Temu and I have never had a problem with them. It's the couriers that I have an issue with sometimes

I was so grateful that Temu was there when getting all the bits and pieces together for the new puppies. Saved a bomb and not one thing wrong. As far as quality goes, no worse than the offerings of places like Kmart or Dollar shops.
I like their products, and, always read the specs if sizing is relevant.
Just have to ignore the emails that come offering super dooper specials. Can quite easily get pulled into the whirlpool.
I have heard people say oooooh, beware of Temu. So far, I have not had any issues concerning funds or scamming. Like anything else, it pays to be cautious up front and never pay with a dr/dr card.

I have noticed that with runners on Temu what I noticed with one type I was looking at it was the small size that was the cheapest price all the rest were full price, I have noticed that a few times with shoes, but it is like the old saying " Let the buyer beware "

Shame on anyone buying these products from Timu who are a Chinese Company not known for their honest advertising/trading. If you get caught then it serves you right and what are you doing buying from China anyway?

Scoring a bargain is what I am doing and not getting ripped off
