And what’s not to love about the sweet, cool, creamy treat? Ice cream is a classic dessert that never gets old. At the same time, it’s also super versatile since there are so many flavours and ways to serve it.
However, with the looming price hikes on commodities including dairy products, it might be high time for us to create our own stash of this decadent cold treat.
Preparing your own ice cream is oftentimes cheaper and healthier than the store-bought alternative as you can easily adjust the ingredients before freezing and serving them.
So, if you're looking for a delicious homemade ice cream recipe that you can try using cheap ingredients, then we've got good news for you!
TikTok user @JaxFoodHax has shared a 3-ingredient ice cream recipe that you can make without using an ice cream maker.

Jax says that all the ingredients that you’ll need to create the homemade ice cream are 450ml of cream, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and flavouring of your choice (vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough or fruits).
In the video, she whisks the condensed milk and cream using a stand mixer until stiff peaks start forming.
Once the correct consistency is reached, Jax adds in some leftover caramel cheesecake — the flavouring she used for the tutorial — into the mixture and folds it in.
She then transfers the mixture into a container and lets it freeze in the freezer for a couple of hours before serving.

YouTube content creator Sasha, who posts under the username How To Cook Smarter, shared a healthy ice cream recipe that is dairy-free and low in sugar.

In his video, Sasha revealed that the three ingredients you'll be needing to prepare this dessert are the following:
- 2 14 oz can full-fat coconut milk (800ml)
- 1/2 cup honey (170g)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g) or flavouring of your choice
As you may have noticed, the two recipes seem to have similar ingredients, with the cream being swapped out for non-dairy milk and condensed milk switched with honey.
So, how can you prepare this ‘healthy’ ice cream?
Sasha says that the first step is to add in the coconut milk, honey, and flavouring of your choice into a bowl before mixing them using a whisk or electric mixer.
Once the ingredients are well-combined, he transfers the mixture into resealable bags and lays them flat in the freezer until they harden.
Sasha says that if you don't have resealable bags, you can pour the mixture into ice cube trays or silicone moulds instead.
Once the mixture gets frozen, the YouTube user takes the resealable bags out of the freezer to break the frozen ice cream into pieces before placing them in the food processor to blend.
The process allows the frozen ice cream pieces to have a smooth and creamy texture similar to those of dairy-based ice cream.
Finally, Sasha serves the ice cream.
