Pepper beef is a dish traditionally made with beef that is stir-fried with capsicums. The dish is popular in many parts of the world, including China, Korea, and the United States. The recipe is simple to follow and can be easily adapted to your liking.

Ingredients:

500g beef (sirloin, flank, or skirt steak), thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 red capsicum cut into 1-inch cubes
1 green capsicum, cut into 1-inch cubes
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon Sriracha (or your favourite hot sauce)
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions:

1. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned.

2. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

3. Add the olive oil to the pan, add the capsicums, and cook for 1-2 minutes until tender. Remove the capsicums and set them aside on a plate.

4. Whisk the garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, Sriracha, and cornstarch in a small bowl.

5. Add the beef back to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through. Add the capsicums back to the skillet and add the sauce. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.

6. Sprinkle with chopped coriander and sesame seeds. Serve the pepper steak stir-fry over rice. Enjoy!

To make this dish extra special, you could try adding various vegetables, such as carrots, broccoli, or onion. You could also try serving it with a side of noodles instead of rice.
