“I feel like this is a fail”: A detail from an Aldi advent calendar leaves a shopper confused
Advent calendars are a fun way to count down to the holidays. Retailers across the country have released their own range of advent calendars, catering to various consumer groups — chocolates for kids, alcohol for adults, and pet treats for pets.
However, one Aldi shopper was left bewildered when she noticed a bizarre detail in her Truck-Shaped Wooden Advent Calendar.
The shopper took to Facebook to share a big problem she had with her calendar when she started counting down the days on December 1.
She wrote: “I feel like this is a fail."
“Has anyone else had a defective calendar?!”
The bizarre detail that the shopper pointed out was that the numbers didn't add up.
She also posted a photo along with her comments, showing that the wooden calendar had a double-up of number 11 and no number 9.

A number of Facebook users said that it took them a while to realise the mistake.
However, one user said that her son noticed the error straight away, writing: “My two-year-old son was confused and asked where is nine?”
Others said that this mistake "happens every year", with one person admitting that it also happened to her last year.
The Facebook user wrote: “Yeah I got a defective one last year... Could you return it? If not, I'd try to fix it somehow.”
“I regularly get defective books, books with pages missing, pages upside down, which makes it extremely hard when a toddler is so excited to read his new book,” another added.
Meanwhile, others suggested ways to fix the double-up.
One person suggested: “When you have finished with 6, turn it upside down.”
“Could you repaint the fronts and put Xmas stickers on there? Kinda give it a glow up lol,” another wrote.
A third advised: “Pop an elf on the shelf next to it with a white-out marker.... say they were being cheeky and changed it and forever you can say the elf changed the numbers... if you have kids that is.”
Although the defect may seem disappointing to some, a number of Facebook users saw the funny side of the incident.
“9,11 we have an emergency,” one person joked.
Another wrote: “‘On the 9th day of Christmas my true love gave to me…’ nothing, you get NOTHING.”
And another added: “I think 7 ate 9.”

It must be noted that Aldi has a return policy for defective items, encouraging customers to return them to the items to their chosen Aldi store.
The policy read: “If you're not completely satisfied with one of our everyday grocery items or Special Buys, you can return it for a refund or replacement within 60 days.”
”Simply bring the product back to any ALDI store with proof of purchase (eg. ... Our friendly staff will then assist you with a refund or replacement).”
