‘How did this even happen?’ Watch this Woolworths delivery driver's ‘embarrassing fail’

We're all human, and we all make mistakes. Even the most put-together and level-headed among us can have a momentary lapse in judgement that leads to an embarrassing situation. Maybe we spilled coffee on our shirts minutes before an important meeting, or perhaps we accidentally sent a sensitive email to the wrong person.

This Woolies delivery driver had a particularly bad day recently.

The delivery driver was captured on video making a very costly error on the job.

TikTok user @mxchael11 shared footage of the incident, which took place in Mildura, Victoria. In the short clip, you can see a Woolworths truck parked in the driveway of a home with substantial damage done to one side of the home.

The user captioned the post: ‘How do you explain this to your boss?’

In the video, the truck appears to have crashed into the corner of the house, causing a pillar holding up the roof to come crashing down. There are tiles and debris scattered around the area and garden, with the Woolworths truck still parked nearby. Yeah, repairs are definitely needed here.

The delivery driver can be heard speaking to the homeowners after the crash, while other people, who are believed to be the neighbours, are in their dressing gowns and slippers. They appear to be investigating what the commotion is all about.

The man who posted the video later added: ‘What makes it even worse is this house is literally in the street behind Woolworths.’ Well, at least no one got injured during this incident!

Woolworths is reportedly investigating the accident and is working with the affected individuals to resolve the matter quickly.

Other TikTok users commented on the video, which has now gone viral with over 70,000 views. Most of them were joking around with each other, but others were left baffled as to how the crash even happened.

‘House obviously pulled out in front of him,’ said one man.

Someone else said: ‘Nothing like home delivery.’ While a third joked: ‘Great ad for Woolworths home insurance.’

‘Why is he even in the driveway? They need to deliver on the road,’ another wrote. Others were sympathetic, saying that they ‘feel’ for the driver. ‘We all make mistakes,’ they wrote.

A second agreed and commented: ‘Feel sorry for the driver, sounds like he’s having a bad day.’

Some users said that Woolies has a ‘no driveway’ policy unless it’s a rural address, probably to avoid unfortunate circumstances such as this one.

I've been getting online shopping for years and how some drivers park you wonder if they even have a licence

A coles delivery van ran into the driver's side rear , trying to overtake at the corner of our street and a busy canterbury Rd. The coles driver was clearly in the wrong and coles did not want to accept fault.
We know others who have been in an accident with either a coles or woolies van.

This accident of the driver damaging the roof of the house takes the cake.
Maybe the drivers need to go through a driving test before getting the job

Being a heavy vehicle driver myself, I can see the error that this bloke has made.
He was driving to the rear of the house and has not taken note of his surroundings with the size (width, height) of his vehicle in mind.

When in IRELAND on St Patrick's day we were with a group of friends. On the return trip from Balleeporeen one couple crashed. Next day they told us that a tree moved out onto the road.

A couple of months ago I narrowly avoided my car getting side-swiped by a Woolworths home delivery driver. I was approaching a roundabout in the right lane and the Woolworths truck was in the left lane, with his left indicator on. This was strange, as this roundabout doesn't have a left turn - only a right turn or straight ahead. Luckily I was suspicious of the truck & hesitated as we set off around the roundabout, because he suddenly moved into my lane - with me right there! I braked in time, nearly losing the left side of my car, as he proceeded to make a right hand turn - with his left indicator still flashing! (I know, I should have reported him!)

Lazy driver obviously didn’t want to unload groceries onto his trolley, push it up to the front door and then unload it, then walk back to his truck. I don’t think he will be backing up anymore driveways anytime soon, if he still has a job. There will be lots of price rises at woollies now to cover the cost of that damage bill, can’t have the profit now, can we?
