It seems like Krispy Kreme has responded to the requests of sweet-toothed vegans across Australia.
After years of fans advocating for vegan options, the iconic doughnut chain has introduced not one but two plant-based doughnuts just in time for World Vegan Day.
Since 2021, Krispy Kreme locations in the UK have been serving vegan doughnuts.
Australian fans have eagerly awaited the day they, too, could savour the classic Krispy Kreme taste without the inclusion of dairy, and the time has finally come!
The well-known brand, beloved for its ‘original glaze,’ has crafted two delectable plant-based flavours: Fudge Brownie Bliss and Apple Custard Crumble.
The Fudge Brownie Bliss features a ‘tantalising’ shell-shaped doughnut filled with rich brownie batter, dipped in chocolate icing, and sprinkled with chocolate biscuit crumbs.
This treat will be available until 4 December.
On the other hand, the Apple Custard Crumble, designed for those yearning for a ‘taste of nostalgia and comfort’, is a shell-shaped doughnut filled with creamy apple custard.
It is then dipped in spiced icing and coated in a vanilla biscuit crumb, and this delightful option will be a permanent addition to the menu.
‘Krispy Kreme has always been about creating moments of joy through our delicious doughnuts,’ said Krispy Kreme ANZ Head of Marketing Aimee Cutajar in a statement.
‘We’re thrilled to bring our vegan-friendly doughnuts to Australia for all to enjoy this World Vegan Day.’
‘Fudge Brownie Bliss and Apple Custard Crumble are also a testament to our commitment to delivering incredible flavours to our customers, and I’m confident they will captivate the tastebuds of vegans and non-vegans alike.’
Both doughnuts are available online or in-store at Krispy Kreme and 7-Eleven nationwide.
7-Eleven Australia Marketing Area Lead Adam Jacka expressed the convenience store’s commitment ‘to make every day easier for our customers, giving more choice … across a range of iconic hero products’.
‘A growing number of our customers have a vegan or plant-based diet, so we are thrilled to be stocking the new Krispy Kreme vegan-friendly range,’ he added.
These doughnuts will have the same pricing as other selected doughnuts within the brand’s range.
