Proposed bill aims to fine businesses and individuals up to $25,000 for refusing cash payments

The argument by Macquarie Bank that cites "Changes in Banking habits" is spurious as when banks close branches and take away ATM machines, they force customers to "change their habits". Many people prefer cash as there are no fees attached. The banks want a cashless society as they get a fee on...

What are your best tips for someone who is moving?

Don't fold and pack your bedding. Roll it up like a long carpet roll, put and old sheet around it and when you get to your new home, all you have to do is unroll it and tuck the edges and your bed is made. If you want to take plants from the garden with you, pot them up as soon as you decided to...

Aussies split over QR code use: ‘Only making everything worse’

Since I suffer from Essential Tremor, I am unable to focus a camera on the QR as my hands shake too much. If we move to widespread use of QRs, I will be looking into whether it qualifies as discrimination against the disabled. The really annoyed me during covid as I had to m ask strangers for help.

Not all disabilities are visible: Woman shares heartbreaking story of harassment and abuse

My late mother had an 82 year old friend, Daphne, who watched a fit looking, muscly tradesman pull up in a Disabled Space. She looked at me for a few seconds and said,"You are going to live a long time." As my husband had recently passed and I have several ailments, I really don't want to live all...

We sanitize our nursery rhymes and school curricula and have anti-bullying policies etc but the children go home and play violent video games and watch violent films. I am against manipulating our right to free speech, and amending history, But, I adhere to the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as...

Thank you for your lovely reply and the hugs. I felt them where you feel things most, in my heart. MSA is almost the same as Motor Neurone disease but you get dementia as well. All the systems in the body cease to function until death claims you. Bladder and bowel control go, you cannot walk or...
