Amid allegations of price gouging, it’s time for big supermarkets to come clean on how they price their products

I cringe every time I go grocery shopping and see the ridiculous prices, Woolworths, in particular, has me hot under the collar with their recently introduced prices which advertise a lower cost if you buy 2 of something and are a "member". As an example, an item might cost $5. If you buy 2 of...

The Seniors Discount Club Christmas Charity Fundraiser!

I support several charities on an ongoing monthly basis, however, I have to vote for the Cancer charity as my mother died at the age of 32, when I was 6, from breast cancer and it has been the greatest sadness of my entire life. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Woolworths shopper's 'sneaky' find on supermarket shelf has everyone talking – is this legal?

I always check the old price under the "special" tag and this is not an "oversight" by an "overworked" employee. It's quite a regular thing that the old price is the same as the special price or even worse, the special price is higher than the old price.

20 of the most unique foods in the world

I have seen overseas visitors try vegemite for the first time and literally spit it out and rate it as one of the most revolting things they've ever tried. Aussie kids are raised on Vegemite and acquire the taste from a very young age. I'm in my 70s and still love my vegemite toast.

AJAX – what does it really mean? Shoppers are shocked to discover the truth!

I do know one thing about Ajax that has nothing to do with its name and it is as follows. Years ago when Ajax was sprayed on something, the dirt/grease started "sliding off" leaving patches of clean. Today it doesn't have anywhere the same cleaning power that it used to have.

Expert warns people against peeing in the shower and how the habit actually affects your bladder in the long run

I can't count the number of times, (when in hospital), nurses have put me on the loo with water running in the sink in order to get me to pee a sample for testing. It hasn't weakened my bladder, nor has the odd wee in the shower! I'm in my seventies.

Aldi shopper complains about Aldi’s trolley return system

"Unlike Woolies or Coles, Aldi requires their shoppers to commit to a small, refundable gold coin deposit to use their shopping trolleys". This statement is incorrect as both Woolies and Coles also use the gold coin to obtain - and return - trolleys for a refund. My local Woolies also has a...

New study reveals that one in four Australians experience tinnitus — here’s everything you need to know

Tone 2, and Tone 10. Constant for 50 years after I worked in a large government mainframe computer centre. Annoying and frustrating..

Mind “blowing” hack for cooler air using our humble pedestal fans!

This is probably showing my age, but when I was a child living in QLD, we only had fans. Air conditioning was unheard of. We used to wet a towel and hang it about 10 cm behind the fan which then drew air from the room through the wet towel which was then much cooler than a fan on its own.
