Foliage fiasco: Retiree roots for justice against council's hefty fine!

I saw a concrete path all the way up the road in the photo! Councils are the epitome of anger. Mostly people mow their verges, though they don’t have to. It’s about having PRIDE of their surroundings. If ratepayers had a reduction in their rates because of “free landscaping and maintaining”...

Shocking sight at Vinnies has Aussies outraged

NO! You keep these items at home, in the car boot or garage until these shops are open. Charity shops are called that for a good reason, and it’s only the aged or disabled who want to volunteer there. Everybody else whinges because they are not open 24/7/365. Make the chronic unemployed do...

Think $5.50 is too much for a flat white? Actually it’s too cheap, and our world-famous cafes are paying the price

I tried to use my bought, reusable coffee container, only to be told “ we don’t accept anything but our own brand” I rest my case, it’s a racket, if mine is a proper reusable container, I should get a fill, and they be so happy 😁 I’m helping them out with their expenses.

Shocking sight at Vinnies has Aussies outraged

If these shops would install security cameras inside, filming outside of course! This will surely have an effect. Then blow up the images of the dumpers/sifters and put on the window. Shame and name, get police involved. It stopped our Op shop from being used as a free tip. Used to cost us...

If it wasn’t for the advertising, packaging, marketing whatever, I wouldn’t have known about it, and cornstarch does not make good gravy. It is insipid, tasteless and can go lumpy, I have eaten peoples so called marvellous gravy over the years, and NOTHING COMPARES.

Somerset and Kent. As the article was referring to supermarkets, I replied with the answer, not saying insurances, rates and motoring is cheap, it’s not. Of course London is dearer than the counties, but supermarkets anywhere in Australia are much dearer than in the U.K.

Dirty sofas: Research shows Australians might be sitting ducks for germs!

As pet owners, our settee is a fabric that’s washable, but saying that, we cover the settee, and wash covers fortnightly regardless. Our Tenterfield terriers do not have that doggy odour, so that helps tremendously. when you see furniture out on the pavements, good grief, utterly disgusting🤢 I...

There are many things I loathe in the U.K. but that doesn’t stop me visiting! Good grief, get a life. Stay in the cities maybe, our coffee shops are open all day in little Gippsland. Actually am on holiday in England, I don’t like the cleanliness bit. After Doha airport, Heathrow is a...

Aussie traveller feels 'screwed over' by Booking.com after a reservation mishap

Same here. I have to go incognito surfing because if You donot take up the offer for a room, booking.com ups the price each revisit. I spoke to them direct, and she insisted hotels have gone up a lot since covid, but I said not 100% each time I looked it up! She refused to believe me. I’m not...

Mum shares money-saving secret to bagging grocery shopping bargains

Articles like this tend to shame you into a lifestyle not available to the majority of people. My neighbours would hate my chooks, hate my shade producing trees, and hate me making gardening noises. And I’m not moving for anybody.
