No knock, no parcel: Aussie’s note to postie strikes a nerve

Nope. Definitely AusPost. I tracked the delivery through the app.

It’s not just the prices: Shoppers reveal why they really love this budget grocer

So there's women drooling over the bloke that owns it as he's good looking and that's a bit of fun, but if it was a nice looking girl and blokes were making "cheeky comments" about her, people would be disgusted.🙄

No knock, no parcel: Aussie’s note to postie strikes a nerve

I had a box of printer ink cartridges delivered by a young lady in her own car who I assume was an AusPost courier. There was nothing written on it to indicate what it was. She never rung the bell, but just stood on my drive about 3 metres from my front door and threw it towards the door, then...

A 'hidden' price pinch could quietly hit your wallets this week! Are you ready to pump out extra cash?

From the link you put on..... "From 4 August 2025, excise duty rates for subitems 1.2, 1.6, and 1.11 will be unchanged for 2 years due to a temporary freeze on the indexation of rates for draught beer. Indexation for these subitems will resume in August 2027." 🙄

A 'hidden' price pinch could quietly hit your wallets this week! Are you ready to pump out extra cash?

Alcohol tax had currently been frozen for 2 years. "In the 2025-26 Federal Budget, the Government announced a pause on indexation on draught beer excise and excise-equivalent customs duty rates for a two-year period, starting from 1 August 2025."

A 'hidden' price pinch could quietly hit your wallets this week! Are you ready to pump out extra cash?

I read the first part about the fuel duty, then got bored as the rest of the article seemed to be one long advert for electric cars.🙄 The one thing I've always liked since living here is the low petrol costs. The duty here has only gone up 0.8c which is hardly anything. So it's about 57c now...

One wrong step near this tram line—and you may not get a second chance

I walked along that tram line taking photos......but that was last year before it opened😁

28 more banks closing—leaving some with 400km drives just to transact

Why should a small bank like this have to lose money in a small town like Taroom if nobody uses it? Are all 800 people in the town regularly in there? Why not if it's allegedly so important they still want a bank? Only 100 went to their meeting. Why didn't all 800 if it's such a big deal? One...

Crisped out: Another Aussie food favourite bites the dust

What about them? Jim's and his other businesses started franchising in 1989. Fitness Plus only started franchising in 2011. Repco and Geeks R Us are not franchises. McDonalds and KFC started franchising in the 50's. Maybe those others could also be going for 70+ years?

Bendigo Bank to close 10 branches, leaving some regional towns without financial services

Exactly. 👍 I opened a Westpac account 6 years ago and haven't been in a branch since. I don't use cash, so don't need ATM's, and just use their debit card on my phone. All the information I need about my account is right in front of me on their app.

They hinted at relief—then pulled back. What’s really going on with the RBA?

That's ok. I'll get some decent interest again on my savings account. 😁👍

Crisped out: Another Aussie food favourite bites the dust

The only good franchises that won't be going anywhere are McDonald's and KFC.

Your grandkids are being targeted by pokies on social media—experts say you need to act NOW

Can't see any reason how people could possibly find this fun. 🙄 I recently went on a short cruise from Sydney and on the ship they had a lot of betting machines with people wasting their money, and time, on them all day.🙄 However, in the early 80's (In the UK) I used to spend a lot of money on...

Woolworths shopper makes $52 mistake with order and reveals how to avoid it

I unfortunately had to do online shopping a couple of years ago when I was ill and couldn't get out. I ordered cherries, with other items, and it seems they never had any so substituted them for broccoli!!!🙄 Haven't done it since and when I see the people doing the orders in local Woolies I'm...

Been seeing the same GP for years? This one policy might mean you can’t go back

I last saw my doctor about 4 weeks ago to discuss a blood test and get some prescriptions and will probably go again in another couple of months when these prescriptions run out. I can't imagine getting struck off just because there's long gaps in seeing him?

It should be kept illegal like any other dangerous drug.

Manual car shortage drives up roadwork costs across Australia

I passed my test in a manual in the UK about 50+ years ago and drove them all the time after that. However, when I got married and my wife learnt to drive she's got no coordination for that so only learnt and passed on an automatic. 🙄 Now in Australia we've got an automatic car, but has a...
