She was 76 and died after routine surgery—‘Had this tool been available' she might still be alive

It's a "pain in the neck but I suppose they have to check there is nothing "foregein in it" Was that because of surgery? If you know you are going to have surgery you can "donate" blood and stipulate it is for your use only. I'm not sure how far in advance they advise you to do that. I know...

Times have changed: See what $77 can get you two decades ago

I buy in-store because of special dietary requirements (medical reasons). Many suppliers do not update their ingredients quickly so I check labelling. I compare prices on-line to decide which supermarket I will get the most benefit from. Going to more than one often costs more because of the...

Even the old plastic shopping bags could be used for a few months before starting to split. One large privately owned supermarket in SA started a reward system for re-using bags before they started charging for them. They were marked on a special card and when it was filled you got $1.00 refund...

Think $445 is too much for perfume? This $29.99 dupe might just win you over

Has it got gold in it??? I suspect the cheap one the scent doesn't last as long. Otherwise it would have more chemicals in it (((like a lot of sunscreens do. The baby and kids' ones don't have the scent and chemical in them and are as effective))

WA nurse Gary Shane Stevenson deregistered for repeated theft of painkillers

He should have been given at least 10 years suspension.............or better still permanent. If the tablets were in a box the amount would have been more than one box. I don't know how many tablets there would have been in a bottle then. Records should be checked and patients involved...

‘Many Australians continue to experience financial challenges’: Meanwhile, MPs just scored a $15k raise

Ask MPs and they will tell you the wages are set by a tribunal. I can't remember the MP's name but several years ago a SA Govt one said they shouldn't be getting the rise and tried to "reject" it, and was basically told he had no say in the matter and he was going to be taxed on the whole lot...

A pet accident, and a stained leather jacket sowed conflict for this family - who was being unreasonable?

At least it was Dave's jacket, not another person become an accidental victim. Maybe you should ban Dave from visiting. He was the one who ignored your request and made your dog ill. There was the risk that they dog could have suffered more than he did and needed urgent vet care. Would he paid a...

Dog breeds can go extinct, and the reasons vary from fashion trends to job loss

In some breeds there has been too much inter-breeding and sometimes eventually eradicated. Dogs with small legs must also have small and not overweight bodies or suffer severe medical conditions. People should stop breeding those breeds of dogs where the issues can become prone or genetic

Shoppers frustrated over checkout practice in ALDI. Did this catch your attention, too?

I think I can beat that one. Many years ago my Mum went into a supermarket (the brand no longer exists). Wages were cash !! A checkout person asked to check her handbag. The annoying part was she had to pull her bank book out and they made her open it. Needless to say she told them she was never...
