Yes my aunt who had alzheimers was put on serenace for agitation and it made her severely worse. Rusty - gone but never forgotten.

My beautiful Daisy passed away on the 6th July, 3 years ago in 2021. She was my sewing supervisor, cross stitch advisor and general craft helper. She was dumped by her previous owner on the streets and picked up and taken to a shelter. I was truly blessed to be able to adopt her. She...

Frustrated Kmart customer exposes subpar online shopping experience

According to Australia Post they don't do fragile post anymore, the last time I posted something I asked they put fragile on it and they said they don't do that. Very frustrating. I haven't had a problem with Kmart's posting, especially large parcels, they have all arrived intact. I was...

What is your hobby or something you love doing

I used to cut all the pieces out on the floor and stitch together, it can take me up to a month doing it this way. Unfortunately, my knees have gone so have bought a fold up table and use that now for cutting, piecing and sewing, so it is just a little faster.

Relief for renters: Australia records biggest rent decline in 4 years, research says

I rent in Government housing and am lucky, I waited a long time to get my unit but am grateful to have a roof over my head and my cats. Everything is a struggle on an age pension which I am luck to have. But I feel for a younger family member struggling to pay rent with two young ones under 5...

I must be one to the stupid ones, I don't put clothes on my cat, but she has plenty of plush blankets to snuggle into an as she is older she is starting to feel the cold. At the moment I am knitting neonate kitten jumpers for a rescue organisation because yes animals do feel cold. I have no...

Popular electric vehicle explosion left firefighter's face burned

Not only are the batteries dangerous, but the vehicles because they are quiet come up on you so quickly that you dont' hear them as well. I have had incidences of this happening to me and I have heard, needs to be verified, that Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs cannot hear them either. They may be...

Experts raise concern as surge in contagious virus cases threatens Aussie babies and seniors

I agree, I went to hospital with RSV and they were going to put me in an induced coma and intubate me. I escaped that with good medical staff and some other thinking. I never want to go there again.

    Walking to school

Yes I remember walking to school, quite a distance in surbubia up a narrow track with your friends. There was no thought of stranger danger back then. There were no buses and our parents certainly didn't drive us to primary school. It was only when we got to high school, that we got the bus to...

I was looking for some craft items and went to Temu but found what I wanted on Wish, probably another Chinese site. But found Wish cheaper than Temu for what I was looking for. We will see what they are like when they arrive.

Experts raise concern as surge in contagious virus cases threatens Aussie babies and seniors

I had RSV a few years ago and never want it again. I asked my GP about the vaccination for adults but it costs $300, a lot of money when on the pension. She said the Government may bring it down. As an at risk person, I would be very grateful if the Government helped to subsidise this...
