Woman's shocking beach encounter leaves her questioning safety

At age thirteen I was approached by a man who said he couldn't read and could I find an address for him. I took the paper he was holding and told him he was in the wrong street, and was about to direct him to the address when he moved his coat and exposed himself. I slapped him on the face then...

‘They’re already struggling’: New changes to aged care spark fear among families

I have tried three different ones but not yet found one that is enjoyable to eat. I now buy from small local shops happy to have your custom, most will last for two meals, some I can get three from before they become soggy. To others struggling to understand how to get through the system: Do...

Feeling the pinch? Here's why some might miss out on a potential $932 support increase

That would mean another five percent on what we all buy because most items have GST on them. There's very little that doesn't have GST on it, so that is going to make everyday things cost us more. And we already can expect a price hike because of Trump and his tarrifs, companies will not absorb...

Elderly woman’s trust shattered in shocking sexual assault by man pretending to be a helper

In Victoria sexual assault does not mean rape, rape means rape. I was not aware of this until someone else pointed out it was rape. Here sexual assault means touching inappropriately. Now that I have researched that I know it means different things in each state. Having had been sexually...

Elderly woman’s trust shattered in shocking sexual assault by man pretending to be a helper

Not in Victoria, it is still called rape if there is penetration. I live in Victoria, and know that sexual assault covers touching without penetration etc., but was unaware that other states have different terminologies, of which I have mow made myself aware.

Elderly woman’s trust shattered in shocking sexual assault by man pretending to be a helper

It states "sexually assaulted" although that's bad enough. It doesn't say she was raped.

Before I gave in to having a rollator, I had mt shopping delivered but I now do my own shopping because the walk to the centre and back is helping to get my weight back to where I'm happy with it. Also, doing my own shoppjng I get to see when something is a bargain. If I need something...

Elderly woman’s trust shattered in shocking sexual assault by man pretending to be a helper

It looked, to me, that the trolley had very little in it, which makes me wonder why she wasn't suspicious of his offer to help. Perhaps she has the beginnings of dementia or alzhiemer's, though there's no mention of that. But why did it take her to 5.40pm before she "managed" to contact...

Garden nightmare highlights risk to backyards in growing neighbourhoods

It is a mixer set up in all but one sink. The problem was hot water from all taps, cold only for few seconds then turned scalding hot. As I said the pipes were the wrong way round, it took plumbers seven and eight to work it out. They also turned the thermostat down a bit, after the overseer...

Garden nightmare highlights risk to backyards in growing neighbourhoods

For three years since I moved here I haven't been able to have a decent shower because the water would get uncomfortably hot so I'd risk slipping when I jumped away. Also I was getting hot, and I do mean hot, scalding hot, from all the cold. After a mix of eight gas and normal plumbers, it...

‘They’re already struggling’: New changes to aged care spark fear among families

Gandhi said, You can tell a country's humanity by the way the treat their elderly.' Looks like Australia is failing big time I'm on level 2 HCP and prices for services have gone up recently. One has to do a balancing act to get some of the bigger things you need by not having too many smaller...

Is the rise of 'King William’ tearing the Royal Family apart’?

I guess you're talking about yourself with your last sentence. This is my last post on the subject, a person who refuses to listen/ read/ comprehend is a total waste of one's time.

Is the rise of 'King William’ tearing the Royal Family apart’?

What don't you get about the crown has no power? They are figure heads, it's the government of the day that makes decisions. It's the government in London who says Scotland can't hold a referendum about ceceding, and they have wanted to become fully independent for decades but are not allowed...
