The Coalition has accused Labor of 'stonewalling' key Centrelink, Medicare data

We live in regional Victoria and wife and I pay $110 to the doctors surgery once a year as the rest is bulk billed. Being pensioners we don’t mind paying the fee otherwise it would be $80 per visit with Medicare rebate of $50. The wife goes every 2 weeks to the doctors for an injection and for...

Are you paying more for less? Discover how 'shrinkflation' is silently hitting your wallet

I have noticed the shrinkflation on Cadbury choc bars. A bar costs $3.75 for 165 grams and also 180 grams as some haven’t been changed yet. This week in Coles they were 2 for $7.00 which equals 330 grams or 360 grams. However if you look at the bigger bars of 360 grams they are $6.00 and to me...

Are seniors set for soaring yearly prescription costs under new dispensing rules? Health minister blasts ‘cynical scare campaign’

Seriously what the hell is the matter with people, my advice is don’t listen to the stupidity of the media who like to do nothing more than scare us with wrong information. Banking

I’m of the old school prefer having cash in my back pocket to pay for things like coffee, lunch etc. it amazes me of how many people use their phones to pay for the same and I wouldn’t have a clue as to even set it up and if we are forced to use this then I’m stuffed!

    Banking

I would change banks to one that treats you like a person. Wife and I bank at the best bank in Australia and it’s not 1 of the big 4 as they are just as bad. Fortunately we don’t get charged fees when using other ATMs.

Your Say Sunday: What is your current living situation/plan for retirement?

Wife and I moved into an over 55’s retirement village 5 years ago. We downsized from a 4 bed and a huge garden and now have 2 beds and a small garden. The community here is fantastic and quite a few have caravans and travel every where and come home again, some go for upto 4 months but at least...

What's your favourite biscuit, and why?

Arnotts Ginger nut biscuits for me, I love them and when Mum was alive we’d eat the whole packet between us with a good couple cups of coffee and dunk them in it. I still do it now.

Did you receive the recent Age Pension increase?

Yes the App is the way to go, I’ve had that since I started on jobseeker 8 years ago now I get the pension. Also if you need an extra payment for something upto $1000 you pay that back over 6 months and you get to pay back in instalments

Did you receive the recent Age Pension increase?

That makes a lot of sense and thankyou for that little bit of information. When I checked myGov for my next payment being on Wednesday it showed that I was only getting an $11 increase. So that means I’ll get the full increase next payday in April as I expect everyone else will also.
