What has happened to op shops? Have charity shops become greedy?

Salvos are so picky about furniture. Some op shops don’t sell furniture purely because they don’t have the space. I drove into the car park at my local vinnies and Before I had even parked a woman sorting donations shouted at me we don’t need anything, take it somewhere else. I wasn’t quick...

Here's how you can save loads of money on your purchases: Australian retailers that offer price matching!

A show on the ABC a few years ago (possibly called The Checkout or similar ??) revealed that most of Bunnings stock, even brand names, is produced for Bunnings only. For example, a Ryobi power tool stocked at Bunnings will be unique to Bunnings although similar to other items found elsewhere...

Using Bmi To Measure Your Health Is Nonsense. Here’s Why

Wow …. That’s ridiculous. My son tried out for police special force 16 years ago at the age of 21, 6ft 1 and 78 kgs, was sooo fit. Was told he didn’t get through the testing but to try again in a couple of years … and in the meantime put on some muscle and bulk before you come back. Poor...

Is dishwashing liquid soap really worth the money? Bargain hunters share their thoughts

When I developed skin allergies the only things I didn’t have to change were Mum deodorant, Final Net hairspray and Morning Fresh. Everything else - moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner, perfume, make up, bug spray, sun screen - I either had to find an alternative or stop using completely. I...

Is dishwashing liquid soap really worth the money? Bargain hunters share their thoughts

I have used morning fresh for over 40 years, inherited this habit from my mum, so I’m glad to hear it rates well. I have sensitive skin but find the lemon is fine for my hands whereas the sensitive one they used to have irritated me. Woolworths have it half price so often, I can’t remember...

Startled SA Residents Woken Up By Frightening Magnitude 2.1 Earthquake

My partner missed the big one that did so much damage in Christchurch by 3 days. He sort of laughed it off until he saw the hotel where he had been staying was severely damaged and he felt a bit sick about it then.

Get your hands on a pair of Havaianas from Kmart for just $12

I rarely go to Kmart but happened to be in store last week and walked past the thongs and was very surprised at the price. I grabbed a pair as I like to have a spare pair just in case, I’ve had my current pair for years. The thing I love about Havi’s is that you don’t have to wear them in -...

Teens take off for Schoolies, and this flight attendant reveals the gross reality of their behaviour

Unfortunately it doesn’t necessarily have to be teens that leave planes like this. I had to travel to the uk earlier this year as my mother in law passed away and each flight we got off had a disgraceful mess - food blankets paper tissues cups headphones, you name it, littered under the seats -...

    Supermarket Home Delivery Rort

I agree with Oldgirl1234 - if you watch the “shoppers” picking orders they are just grabbing the first thing off the shelf and it’s not likely they are even looking at prices, that wouldn’t be their job. They should definitely be looking at use by dates though but they don’t. I’m just glad I...

This little-known Woolworths hack can help you save BIG on your groceries!

It’s not quite 14% off but now I’m splitting hairs. You get 10% off your total shop and then only get the 4% off that reduced balance when you pay.

Woolworths' new 99-cent reusable shopping bag is sustainable, but there's an issue…

That was meant to read “I can sew” 🤦‍♀️

Woolworths' new 99-cent reusable shopping bag is sustainable, but there's an issue…

Well done, I can see but just don’t enjoy it. There was something going around a few years ago about making bags out of t shirts without sewing. I volunteered at an op shop and we made some out of t shirts that weren’t good enough to sell and used them as carry bags for customers.

Woolworths' new 99-cent reusable shopping bag is sustainable, but there's an issue…

I am very happywith my Woolworths green bags and have been using them for years. REDcycle are trying to find buyers for the products that they produce from soft plastic. Hopefully it is up and running again soon or the federal government step in and fine a solution something. One of their...

Home cooks everywhere are raving about this $22 'miracle' non-stick pan from Kmart!

I bought a Kmart non stick frypan a couple of months ago after reading that Choice had highly recommended them .. but mine has a metal handle, not a wooden one like picture in the article. I had a “mid range not quite but nearly fancy” brand before this and the Kmart pan is so much better...

Sunnyboys may still be around - but not the way you think!

In South Australia in the 60s and 70s the orange flavour was Sunny Boy and the raspberry was Razz, there weren’t different flavours of Sunny Boy. As kids we were allowed 2 show bags at the Royal Show (thought we were sooo lucky) and Sunny Boy was always my first choice. I used to buy those...
