I agree about the proofreading - doesn't seem to happen nowadays. Proofreading was part of my job in past years and I find it really annoying to read misinformation.

If the information is incorrect, it should be corrected. However if, as is stated, her husband gave her the gift and she doesn't want it, I am sure they could reach some compromise regarding the disbursement of the money as most married couples would do.
