There's a lot of hypocrisy about clothes made in China. Realistically that is all some people can afford. I would also suggest the clothes "snobs" check the labels on their designer items. It always says "Designed in Australia", turn the label over usually says "Made in China"!

I totally agree. I have several pairs of jeans purchased from KMart about four years ago for $7.50/pair. They are great, have a little stretch, keep their shape, wash well, and still look good. My son also wears their jeans and is very happy with the fit and style. There's too much snobbery...

While it is useful to be able to use your debit card if you have no cash with you, it is not a preferred option. People should be able to have the choice of both methods. Banks need to realise they are supposed to be a service industry, and that means offering the choices their consumers prefer.

I prefer to use a self checkout and have never experienced this. When I don't bag an item I have scanned when shopping in Coles a message comes up asking me if I want to bag it, and I respond accordingly. I'm surprised that didn't happen for this lady.
