This ingenious Kmart hat tip went viral on social media-what's all the fuss about?

Whoever said vanity must be an expensive affair never met the innovative shoppers of Kmart, who recently whipped up a viral sensation with clever customisation on a store staple.

The Fedora Hat, priced $12 at Kmart, has undergone a ground-breaking transformation, causing a stir and leading to a social media frenzy.

A savvy customer, beaming with pride, shared her unique hat art on social media, garnering a positive response. The fedora hat became an extraordinary headpiece using a little tool called a pyrography pen.

The crafty hat artist unveiled her creation, stating, 'Just thought I’d share my first time doing pyrography on the Kmart Fedora hat.'

A heart-stopping picture of her masterpiece was displayed alongside her post, featuring a beautifully free-drawn design of a native Australian plant.

Pyrography, for the uninitiated, is a technique of embellishing an object with burn marks by using a heated pen-like tool. It is often associated with woodwork, but as in this crafty artist’s case, it can be used on other materials.

She revealed that she had procured her pyrography pen kit from Amazon and chose the budget-friendly Kmart Fedora as her canvas–showcasing that price tags don't bind creativity.

The love for her novel creation was evident, attracting over 6,500 likes and 700 comments.

Her spectacular design had shoppers asking, ‘How did she do it?’ and left others mesmerised, wanting to get their hands on one.

'Wow, that's awesome. Do any of you sell them at all?' one person asked enviously.

'I need one!' chimed in another, and a third admirer gushed, 'This is soooo stunning!! I love it!'

Generously offering tips for those eager to try the technique, the craftswoman used a 'washable fabric marker to mark out my design' as the initial step and urged practice runs on different materials, like wood, to gauge the best operating temperature.

Inspired by her innovative hat art, Kmart shoppers began uploading their own pyrographic creations.

Interestingly, amidst the hundreds of comments, one aspirational crafts enthusiast revealed, 'I have been doing these for the past week and am trying to start a small business doing them.'

To which another astute observer noted, 'Someone is trying to sell the same hats for 300-600 bucks. Yours looks the same. Get on it, ladies…there's money to make.'

I don't wear hats. Ever.
I’m not a lover of them myself. I remember years back I was working in a supermarket and the owner decided we should wear hats. I said “but I just look awful in a hat” He made me put it on, took one look and said “take it off, you look awful” lol. I just don’t suit them, I’ve tried lots of different styles but nothing works
