    50/60s my dad was a butcher. One day my mum was sick & he had to take me to work. I still remember the bone saw noise & the big butchers block. Playing in sawdust & all sorts of treats. Health & safety would not have been happy. But for a little girl it was the best day with my dad.

    Whitening your sand shoes

    I loved the job of whitening my sand shoes. It always made me feel happy to see them clean and bright white l was a sporty child so got to do this a lot. I didn’t like the black sponge. Black nugget polish was much better.

    When I was a little girl I remember a day when I went to close to a wasp nest. I had blue dots all over me. Can’t remember if helped or not.

    Tricycle

    Mine was yellow and red. I lived at my grandmas and there no other kids to play with. So I would load up my dollies in the back seat and travel many miles (in the yard) and have many adventures.

    I agree with Sean, I like service with a smile & short chat. A lot of older people get confused when they are pushed into using self service because there no staff to serve.
