    When I was younger, we never had pasteurised milk and even at school had to take the cream off the milk bottles. My father even had oysters shipped up from the coast and we had the natural, although some members also had them cooked, never got sick.

    It's not them that are pushing for a cashless society but it's the way we use our cards and especially since covid came to us. Holding large amounts of cash in a retail store costs them in insurance and the less they hold, the cheaper it is as well as reduced costs for the Armoured car services...

    I worked in retail for many years and we never had any one sitting at the cameras looking for thieves but was used to find out who, what and when things were taken. Some times it can take a while to scroll through the system to locate the information that is needed.

    Most big retailers don't have a wholesale and retail arms but have buying departments that purchase the goods from the supplier and set the prices either as per agreement or at a set margin to cover costs and to factor in stealing as well!

    Locks only apply to the back of the mail box if it can take one. Not all letters are put fully in the mail box and they are not always big enough to take a magazine (open road etc), letters and junk mail that posties deliver. Look around and see how many letters are sticking out of the mail box!

    I remember using paper bags when I was younger and getting things like sugar, flour etc in bulk and not in packaging like now. Also sold kero by the litre in bulk as well at a department store, you had to bring in your container.

    I haven't seen Bunnings sell their boxes and they cut boxes in half and put them out for customers to use at the checkouts.
