Don’t totally agree. While phones are annoying, though I find mine very convenient, not everyone is firmly attached to them. I’m also almost 72 & can remember young ones everywhere with those loud portable stereos on their shoulders inflicting terrible sounding music on us. Im still optimistic...
I no longer move aside either so you’re not on your own. It is so annoying especially when the person is a similar age to me. I like to be aware of what’s happening around me not what’s going on with my mobile.
Hello Gideon. I love the bakery in Pinjarra, I’ve only visited once but the food was wonderful. My son was there a couple of weekends ago. Unfortunately it’s bit far from Launceston but we visit Perth every year to catch up with our son.
I’ve noticed that at most of the supermarkets near me have their disabled spots placed so that you reverse out into a thoroughfare with cars racing by. It seems to be very unfair on those with a disability. I don’t think that whoever plans these places ever consider the problems that a lot of...
So many people get trapped into buying everything on credit and there are consequences. I grew up before the advent of credit cards so was used to saving for things. I still only buy what I can afford to pay for and this is how our son was raised. I was being pressured by a salesman one day...
I often hear my neighbours children crying, I can even work out which one it is but if it went on for too long I’d wander over to see if I could help out. I’ve never been bothered by it, babies cry a bit, put up with it or offer to help.
It does so I spend most of winter complaining about how cold it is. I thoroughly enjoyed our last summer but then it seemed to get cold very quickly. Thank goodness I don’t live at Liawenee, they’ve already had a -8 one night. We actually live in Launceston.
You certainly have been through so much and you sound as though it doesn’t control who you are. I know exactly what you mean, all cancers are dreadful & the treatment is pretty horrific. We tend to donate to fund raisers for children’s cancer and the facilities that provide treatment & support...
I’m rather envious. I tried to convince my husband that we needed to move to Perth but he hates the heat so I’m making him endure his 75th birthday & Christmas with our son who lives there.
That was very interesting Dr. Al. I would love to learn more about AI & the effect it could have on us. I agree that we can’t stop it happening but some things are a little scary for us seniors. I’m looking forward to any follow up articles you may write. I would love a robot to take over...
You lucky ducks living in such a beautiful spot. How are you enjoying living in Perth veggiepatch? Have you been to Kings Park which is one of my favourite spots to go & watch the world go by. I didn’t know that Highway to Hell was inspired by Canning Highway. You learn something new everyday.
No not in mine either! i visited my friend yesterday who ,unfortunately has dementia. She answered the door and said I’ve folded the towels & I don’t know what to do with them. I very gently suggested putting them in the cupboard but she’d forgotten where it was so we went looking & found it...
