Dennis R's Afternoon Joke. Sean was a commercial traveler who had covered the country over the years, one trip he got lost on a strange road on a dark and stormy night, his car had broken down, he thought that he was to have a terrible night in the car, but he then saw a light in the distance and spent an half hour walking to it, and he was soaked to the skin, he knocked on the house door and a farmer opened the door to see a stranger wet and cold, he asked him in to dry his clothes before the fire, the farmer and his wife provided true country hospitably then showed him to the bathroom where he stripped and got into a dressing gown so his clothes could dry by the fire, they had no phone at the farmhouse so the farming couple gave him something to eat and drink and said he should spend the night on the settee, as he was eating his supper with the couple a beautiful young girl entered the room, they introduced her as their daughter and her name was Ida, in the small hours of the morning the traveler realized the farmer's wife was putting more wood on the fire, you poor man she said you must be so cold would you like our Eiderdown, the traveler said no thanks I could not cope she has been down twice already.
