Reminds me of my dad telling of an accident he had to attend. Car of this era had crashed into a tree on a country road. Dented bumper but rest of car unaffected.
Of course all the passengers were killed, praise crumple zones on modern cars!!

My Dad had a 1955 fluid drive De Sota
then 1960 Dodge. all needed for towing racehorse floats
Big American cars were the flavour of his. The Dodge would have seated 4 across the front bench.
