General Discussion Thread 03.03.2025

G’day, members! I have to share something that made me smile today. I came across this video of a lady drawing a hopscotch on the footpath, and the way strangers responded to it was just wholesome! It makes me want to grab some chalk and do the same on the driveway!

Loved it but today is 03/03/2025 not 2024
Athena. I see you are trying to stop time and not grow another day older since 03/03/2024?? I have not gotten a day older since June 1981 at age 26, when I came out of a coma. I am as silly now, as I was way back then!! Live long and prosper, someone once said with the V inbetween his four fingers, two fingers either side of the V.

Today was a sad say for me as I lost my Godmother last night. She was a beautiful lady with a beautiful soul.

I sat and went through my photos of her and seeing how loved she was made me smile.

This lady escaped Cyprus and her home when the Turkish invaded Cyprus.

Her and her husband and 3 children escaped with only a few items. They were relocated in Australia where they had a good life.

Her daughter who is also my daughters Godmother took her mum for a holiday to Cyprus when they opened that side of Cyprus up. They visited their old house where a Turkish family lives. They had kept some of their items eg photos for a few years but ended up burning it all.

Suzanne Rose I remember my father doing British National Service in Cyprus, as a peace keeper in the mid/ late 1950's. I now have some pictures of his time there. He took my step mother there for a holiday in the early 2000's, He always talked fondly of his time there, even with bullets flying around. God Bless you and yours! Amen! & Amen! Ox

Well it was last night if that is okay. I decided to have a bowl of vanilla ice cream, with chocolate sauce from the fridge. Got it all ready and sat down to eat it. Only it wasn't chocolate sauce, it was Barbeque Sauce. I got the giggles, still do when I think about what my face would have looked like tasting my ice cream.

Sorry, but I can only think of your reaction and can't stop giggling! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Reminded me, years ago in my 30s, my husband and I were at a wedding. I was drinking apple cider and accidentally picked up my husband's scotch on the rocks - and almost threw up!
