Woman’s incredible hack for cleaning sliding door tracks – “D*** brilliant!”
- Replies 4
I think we can all agree that sliding door tracks are one of the most tedious things to clean at home. Trying to wipe off the dirt trapped in them is just as difficult as threading a needle. And so, we can’t really blame you if you’d rather just avoid looking down when you open or close your sliding door.
However, one cleaning expert came up with a simple, fantastic solution – and all it requires is a sponge, black pen, pair of scissors, and a tad bit of scissor work.
Carolina McCauley shared her hack on TikTok, demonstrating exactly how to achieve the brilliant cleaning trick.
In the short clip, she starts by advising her followers to get their hands on a sponge that’s wide enough to cover a sliding door track. Then, she places her sponge on the track and marks it directly above where the grooves are with a black pen.

“Cut the sponge on your marks,” the cleaning guru instructed. “And slide the sponge along the tracks.”
She proceeds by soaking the sponge in warm water before sliding it along the tracks.
“Sparkling clean!” she said.
The video amassed over 41.1k views and 1.9k likes, with comments left by several users who were blown away by the hack’s efficiency.

“Omg, I just cleaned all my windows and couldn’t get everything. This is great!” one person wrote.
“I needed to see this today.” said another.
“D***, brilliant!” praised a third.
“WOW, thank you!” commented one more.

One of her recent and most viewed clips with nearly a million views showed how you can fold a shirt in the blink of an eye.
She began by laying a shirt down flat and picturing a line across the centre.

She then pretends to mark three points, labelling them with the numbers one, two, and three. She grabs points one and two, holds the second point in place and brings point one to point three.
Then, Carolina yanks the shirt up and wiggles it. She lays it back down and folds it over perfectly. Ta-da! We learn something new here at the SDC every day.
