ZOOM in a bit More! Puzzled ABC viewers spot an X-rated Item in the background of a reporter's Zoom call

We're all grown-ups here, and as much as we’ve grown used to talking about “adult things,” the birds and the bees, most of us have grown past that phase and now prefer to keep matters like those to ourselves. So now, how would you feel if one day, you’re sitting comfortably on your couch, trying to keep yourself updated by watching the news, and then suddenly, you see what seems to be a massive, glistening, (detached) prosthetic x-rated ‘toy’ (un)discreetly perched on a news anchor's shelf?

Melbourne-based journalist Daniel Ziffer was probably shocked by the general public’s response upon getting off air, as during his time to shine, barely anyone was paying attention to what he was saying at all. Rather than listening to him, people were too busy staring over his shoulder at what seemed to be an x-rated toy, out in the open, not in the lowermost drawer of the bedside table or the hidden compartment under the bed, as where they usually are…

‘It’s a d****!’ laughed one prominent radio host, Kyle Sandilands, after watching the video, ‘Clearly, to the right side of the guy's head - mouth height, by the way - there's a big black d****.’

There were numerous speculations with regards to what happened behind the scenes, because who in their right mind would go ON AIR with an x-rated toy so visibly positioned within the frame? Others were trying to convince themselves that the item was a ‘novelty candle’ while others believed that the news anchor was probably a victim of an elaborate prank set up by friends or family prior to going on air.

One viewer suggested, 'It was a set-up. Why on earth have the camera set up so it has most of the room in view?’

Shortly after the footage blew up, Mr. Ziffer spoke up to satisfy everyone's curiosity and finally quench the mystery behind the brilliant eye-catcher.

Huzzah! What seemed to be the shiny surface of an x-rated toy was apparently a vintage Geelong Cats scarf folded over itself!

What journalist Grant Tucker said is probably the best advice to throw out there: 'Perhaps the greatest guest background on the BBC Wales news tonight. Always check your shelves before going on air.'

What a story and what a relief! How about you? What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen on a Zoom call? How would you react if you were in Mr. Ziffer’s shoes? Tell us all about it in the comments below!

Well it certainly helped boost the ratings. Maybe watcher was paid to see something that wasn't there. He remain squeaky clean all over the possibility of a little smut.
