True story, I shared a house in Sydney in the early 8o's and a housemate announced to the household one evening, that He had just managed to score a job with a Marketing company.

After I complimented him, he said yeah there were forty applicants, but what got me through was they'd advertised for a bright energetic go getter, who could demonstrate highly creative skills. He said so I took their advice and made up most of my resume.

He evidently told his boss years later, over a counter lunch celebration, and told how he first looked stunned and then clinked glasses, shook his head laughed and said, well, you've certainly earned your spot now. However, we do not need to air this with others and Nigel agreed.
