Your one-stop guide for this year’s Boxing Day shopping spree

Boxing Day can mean different things to different people. Some use it as extra time for themselves after weeks of tedious Christmas preparation, others just sleep the day off after last night’s feast. However, for many others, Boxing Day means only one thing: shopping!

The morning of December 26 is a time-honoured tradition for many Aussies who are looking to bag high street bargains and sales.

When do the Boxing Day sales start?

Before, Boxing Day sales used to start as soon as the doors of your local stores opened. But things have changed in recent years as online shopping became more popular.

Now, many retail stores begin marking down their prices once the clock drops at midnight of December 25. This allows customers to have their items reserved before stocks go on sale in-store.

Many Westfield stores around Australia usually open as early as 7 am for excited Boxing Day shoppers.

However, not all stores open on Boxing Day, so it’s better to confirm with your local shopping centres first!

Have any Boxing Day sales already started?

Yes! Below is a list of shops that have already started their Boxing Day sales before the 26th.

Are there Boxing Day sales online?

Once again, yes! Most retail shops have already launched their online websites, allowing their customers to get the same deals and discounts as their physical store counterparts.

Some even offer ‘online only’ promos like free shipping and extra coupon codes.

We also recommend signing up for the store’s newsletters if you want to get early access to their sales! You know what they say: the early bird gets the worm.

How can I get the best Boxing Day deals?

We can’t speak for everyone, but usually, the best deals are on those things you know you would get many years of use out of.

You may be surprised by the unbelievably cheap deals you’re going to encounter on Boxing Day, but you should also remember to assess the item’s value for yourself.

Why not look for more expensive but higher quality items you would usually walk past on any other day?

Consider looking for deals on home goods such as appliances or staples like a good pair of jeans, leather shoes, or handbags. You can even indulge yourself with premium skincare!

There are still a few days left before the 26, so we recommend making a list now of those you would really want to buy on Boxing Day. You can window shop the items on the store’s online catalogue and watch out for their discounted rates.

Where are the best Boxing Day clothing sales?

Not everyone wears the same thing so this really depends on how you like to style yourself!

But since you’re asking us, here are some of our favourites!

Myer - you can never go wrong with this Boxing Day classic!

Want to look sophisticated but not flashy? Zara has your back.

Head to H&M if you want casual clothes that do not compromise style and comfort.

Trendy has never been this budget-friendly with Cotton On!

And if you can’t choose from the above choices, there is always The Iconic with its wide range of clothing lines.

Enjoy Boxing Day shopping on Sunday, everyone! And remember, online shopping is your friend! But if you’re planning visiting stores, make sure to head out early to avoid the rush.
