You won't BELIEVE what motorists spotted on a highway this week

As an Aussie, it's not uncommon to encounter some unexpected craziness while driving on the roads.

Whether it's a kangaroo hopping across the highway or a giant road train barreling alongside the road, there's always something to keep you on your toes.

For many Aussies, it's just another part of the unique charm of living in this beautiful and sometimes unpredictable country.

This week, an unidentified man caused a bit of a stir in Queensland when he took an unexpected – and altogether unsafe – mode of transport.

According to reports, it all began when the man's car crashed into several vehicles and a guard rail while travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway, causing a massive pile-up that created chaos on the busy road.

But that was just the beginning of the strange happenings that would unfold.

In a bizarre turn of events, the man emerged from his car, naked, and sprinted down the highway, leaving stunned onlookers in his wake. The sight of a man streaking down a major highway was shocking enough, but what happened next took the situation to a whole new level.

Desperate for a way out, the man attempted to hitch a ride on a passing horse float. The image of a naked man clinging to the side of a horse float as it hurtled down the highway was something straight out of a comedy, but the reality of the situation was far from amusing.

As authorities arrived on the scene, they were forced to grapple with the man's erratic and dangerous behaviour. The incident caused a major blockade on the highway, leaving countless motorists stranded and frustrated.

As news of the incident spread, people couldn't help but wonder what had caused the man to behave in such a bizarre and alarming manner. Was he under the influence of something? Was he suffering from a mental episode? Or was there something even more sinister at play?

Despite the man's arrest, investigations into the incident are ongoing, and the full story behind the strange and unsettling events that unfolded on Bruce Highway is yet to be revealed.

But amidst all the confusion, the incident has sparked conversations on social media with some users suggesting that the man may have needed serious help, rather than ridicule.

'I hope he got the mental health assistance he needs and isn't just made an object of derision for entertainment value,' said one person.
Key Takeaways

  • A naked man was arrested after being filmed clinging to the outside of a moving horse trailer on a Queensland highway.
  • He had earlier crashed a car into several vehicles and a guard rail, then fled his car and ran naked down the highway before hitching a ride on the side of a horse float.
  • Investigations are continuing, but the man has not been charged.
  • Some social media users pointed out the man may have needed help, instead of ridicule.
While we here at the SDC can never condone such dangerous behaviour, it's important that we always remember to be kind.

We never know what's going on in someone else's life so we must always try to be understanding of the unexpected.

You might find it hard to believe, but this wasn't the first case we reported of an Aussie going out in public in nothing but their birthday suit.

Last year, a man from New South Wales took it to a whole new level when he strutted into a petrol station wearing absolutely nothing — except for a pair of thongs and his sunglasses.

Witnesses claim he was in his mid-50s to early 60s, and he casually strolled in, paid for his petrol, and left the store employees in a state of complete shock and bewilderment.

In 2021, there was also footage that surfaced online showing an out-of-control streaker causing chaos inside a pizza shop in Sydney.

The scantily clad man, dressed in nothing but a tight pair of white undies, was caught on camera sprinting into a Pizzaiola place in Bondi. Customers waiting outside could hardly believe their eyes as the man rushed into the store, toppling towers of stacked empty pizza boxes and throwing them across the floor.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier, the man gave the store employees the middle finger before jogging out of the shop.

The streaker kept a firm grip on the front of his underwear as he dashed away from the store and seemingly met up with an accomplice. The pair then sprinted off, clearly determined to avoid getting caught.

In Australia, laws regarding public nudity vary in each state and territory. But in general, it is illegal to intentionally expose your genitals in a public place or visible from a public place. If convicted, you could face a hefty fine or up to two years in prison.

So, members, what do you think? Have you ever been out and about and stumbled upon a man in his birthday suit? Maybe you were at the beach, the park, or even in your own neighbourhood. Is it something that you find offensive or inappropriate? Or do you think that people should be free to express themselves in any way they choose?

With the first story I was waiting for an ending.🤔 I'm guessing he may have been on drugs or so many other scenarios...maybe he fled quickly because he was was in bed with another man's wife and her husband came home.....maybe the husband was chasing him.. . Or maybe he was sleep walking / driving.

As for out n about and nudity, A nudist beach or gym shower should be the only public place you should be showing your birthday suit off.
But with all the social media hype you are going to see more n more people doing wacky and crazy stuff just to post and get those likes

Whilst I am not overly phased seeing the naked man clinging onto a horse float, I simply could not help but notice, and keep noticing, the massive crack along the windscreen of the people filming the event. I'm pretty sure that is a disaster waiting to happen. Dingly danglies have their risk too, but people don't do things like that for no reason. Who knows, he may have been a victim of idiot mates playing a prank.

I am more intrigued by the person who put the film up on Twitter. In Queensland, he would have been charged for having a cracked windscreen if anybody was doing the job of road control. It is too dangerous to drive with a crack right across the screen, once upon a time we had a police force, especially for car faults. Now it seems anything goes! This is another example of things going downhill with any type of government we have in power as for the nudist lets hope he gets the help he needs.

What he did was dangerous not just to himself but to others as well, now with that being said………. I find it quite amusing seeing a naked man running amuck, makes my day 😁😁🥰

It doesn't bother me if people want to get about in the nude. If you come to my door in the summer and I take a while to answer the doorbell it'll be because I'm dropping a dress over my head. There is nothing inherently wrong with being naked, only the restrictions society places on us. Being naked is a great leveler, no airs and graces with designer attire, we've all got a body, all roughly similar and none of us perfect. :)

All I can say is careful love, I have twice experienced naked females answering the doorbell to me and my feeling is to say, that not everyone is a good person hey.

It is, however, I do absolutely agree a VERY friendly, though a tad risqué way to answer the door on a tourist island (I have worked on one) or when saying well, welcome home honey, to your partner.

But when it's about opening the door naked to anyone else, please do be careful.

I personally am just as concerned about the person who filmed this. Do they not realise a windscreen cracked from side to side is illegal? they could very easily get booked or even worse, if another stone hits that windscreen they could end up with a lot of glass in their faces and on their laps.

I was walking down the street in a country town years ago when a naked man came strolling towards me. There were lots of other people walking up and down the street. I thought a couple of older ladies were going to have a heart attack when they saw him they looked so shocked, could have been the only naked man they had ever seen as they had never married. Not long after two wardsmen from the local hospital came running down the street looking for him. Turns out he had undressed out of a hospital gown at the hospital and as he couldn’t find his clothes just left and started trying to find his way home. He was only probably in his thirties and had mental health issues which is why he was in the hospital.

In this instance, my guess is the poor fellow needs some psychological help & the fact that he's behaving badly is exacerbated by the fact he's doing it naked...

But the bigger picture is that it seems modern society has come to accept that nudity is the cause of many social ills such as rape, marital infidelity, lust, sexual misconduct, perversion & more - and as a result, more often than not the media home in on naked 'news' of any kind to deliver alarm & entrench misinformation.

And yet the truth is that at some 'high' level, a small number of people have taken it upon themselves to uphold these anachronistic beliefs through defining a convenient social construct to dictate which parts of the body can be exposed to public view - or not. So unlike drunkenness, smoking or other learned anti-social behaviours which seemingly are OK & acceptable to the general public, nakedness is shunned - even though we all have 'it' naturally....
Strikes me, common sense isn't very common.
