You won't believe this incredible transformation: Roseanne star John Goodman loses 90 kilos!

Few things inspire us more than witnessing individuals taking control of their health and making positive changes for their well-being. Among these incredible transformations, weight loss journeys stand out as a testament to human resilience.

It always impresses us when we see people embark on a path of remarkable transformation!

One such tranformation comes from the beloved television actor John Goodman, best known for his iconic role as Dan Conner in the hit show Roseanne.

Goodman, now 71, recently took to the red carpet to unveil his jaw-dropping 90kg weight loss transformation. The actor attended the 62nd Monte-Carlo TV festival to promote the third season of his current series, The Righteous Gemstones.

Previously tipping the scales at 178kg, the Confessions of a Shopaholic actor now boasts a healthy physique. Dressed in beige pants, a dashing black blazer, and a bright yellow tie, Goodman was virtually unrecognisable as the same man we once knew from his earlier years in show business.

Embarking on his weight loss journey back in 2007, Goodman initially asked for the assistance of a personal trainer with the simple objective of increasing his daily activity.

As he confided to ABC in 2017, '[In] the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.'

However, this time, Goodman was determined to make sustainable, long-lasting changes to his lifestyle. He realised, 'I'm getting to the age where I can't afford to sit still anymore.'

Consequently, he adopted a Mediterranean-style diet—emphasising whole foods, grains, nuts, fresh produce, fish, and olive oil. An increased focus on regular exercise complemented this shift in dietary habits.

John Goodman's trainer suggests that people can safely incorporate physical activities into their daily routines by starting with low-impact exercises, such as brisk walking or gentle yoga, and gradually increasing the intensity as their fitness level improves.

Before starting a new exercise routine, it's always a good idea to consult your healthcare provider. They can provide the best guidance and advice tailored to your needs.

Perhaps one of the most commendable aspects of Goodman's transformation was his decision to confront his alcoholism head-on. In 2007, the actor made the bold choice to give up alcohol altogether, recognising the emotional toll that it was taking on him.

He confessed to Rolling Stone magazine, 'All that anger was fuelled by fear, and the drinking was because it was fun... But I was probably born an alcoholic. But most of the anger's gone. If I don't watch the news, I'm cool.'

As part of his daily routine, Goodman works out six days a week, engaging in various activities such as using the elliptical bike and treadmill. He also sets himself a daily step goal of 10,000 to 12,000 steps, proving that it's always possible to change your lifestyle and get moving.

Over the last few weeks I've lost two kilos. I put it down to increased body energy used to try and stay warm. By the end of winter I may lose another couple.
