You won't believe the price of this extravagant cafe's single cup of coffee!

If you're anything like us, you enjoy a good cup of coffee in the morning to start your day. And while advancements in home brewing have made cafe-quality coffee more accessible than ever, there's still something about settling down in a cosy cafe that we just can't resist.

But we have to admit, as much as we love our daily dose of caffeine, we have noticed the price of coffee these days seems to creep ever so slightly higher each time we visit our local cafe.

Well, if you thought your morning flat white or cappuccino was getting a bit costly, prepare to be astounded by the luxurious and pricey offering at one Western Sydney cafe!

Introducing the $1500 cup of coffee found at the Brew Lab Cafe in Penrith. Yes, you read that correctly. A single cup will set you back a whopping $1500! As you might expect, this is no ordinary brew; it is, in fact, claimed to be the 'rarest coffee in Australia'.

So, what exactly makes this coffee worth its eye-watering price tag, and who on earth would pay for it? Well, it turns out that the specialty coffee is so unique, it's only available by appointment, and according to the cafe owner, Mitchell Johnson, this remarkable coffee has the power to bring people to tears.

'It's an exceptional coffee, the kind of coffee that makes people cry. I know that sounds crazy, but it's happened; it's brought them to tears,' Johnson told The Daily Telegraph.

If you're wondering, this exclusive coffee is a filtered single-origin variety grown at the base of a volcano in Panama, around 1700 metres above sea level. The beans used in this luxurious brew are rated well above 90 points on the Specialty Coffee Association's grading scale, which makes them an 'outstanding' coffee.

These rare beans are produced, harvested, and roasted by the Ninety Plus Estate, which is so protective of the prized product that they refuse to reveal its name or batch number.

Johnson, who imports various specialty coffee varieties, said that only two people had tried the $1500 coffee so far due to its remarkable exclusivity. Upon request, the beans are ordered, roasted in Panama, and then flown to Australia by private jet. Talk about a first-class experience for your tastebuds!

And as for the actual brewing process, that's no ordinary affair either. The coffee is served black, without any additives or sweeteners, and every step is meticulously executed to extract the fullest flavour possible from these exclusive beans.

As Johnson explained to The Daily Telegraph, 'This particular coffee, you drink it as it cools down, and the flavours change and evolve, giving way to tastes of peach, strawberry, lemonade, rose, and juniper.'

If you've considered indulging in this exquisite experience but aren't quite ready to part with $1500 for a cup of coffee, the Brew Lab also offers more wallet-friendly options at $100 and $200 per cup. One of which reportedly has notes of pineapple, hops, and dulce de leche and has been purchased seven times.

Stupidity is all I have to say about this. You can get horrible tasting coffee and then you can get fantastic tasting coffee - but at $1500, I don't think so. Not for me even though I usually only have 1 or sometimes 2 a day.
I wonder how much he spent on importing the product and how much of it he will ultimately sell.

Ah poor me and my supermarket milled coffee grain cheapies. I know they are just the dregs of the finer ground and coffee dust, but they still taste like coffee.
Why is it that I am not over the moon in despair at not being able to imbibe those for the rich and foolish orgasmic-sounding beans? Oh well, next?

Oh my Lord, surely you want to experience the taste of pineapple in your morning coffee for just an extra fifteen hundred bucks? Lol.

Seriously! I saw this on A Current Affair or news and I thought that some people are really gullible and in fact stupid and anything for a buck. The people that order and pay for this cuppa upfront to this very basic looking coffee shop which is in Penrith NSW. Yep, Penrith. I mean 'Come on.'

Can not believe that these people also get to vote as well. That gets my goat.

That $1,500 is pretty much my food, toiletries and laundry for about 9-10 months, excluding my pets.

Here's the link for this coffee shop people and yes, they are at Penrith.

You have to admire their courage in trying to make a quid, especially in their area.

I want my expresso coffee to be sweet and smooth on the tongue, without any unpleasant bitter, sour or ashy flavour. The flavour lingering on the palate!!
If I wanted it to taste like peach, strawberry, pineapple, lemonade or juniper I would order a juice or smoothie

I don’t know how they can justify @ 1500.- for a cup of coffee , they better enjoy it. I love my coffee for morning tea , we make our own with our Nespresso machine and it is really good. When we go out for a coffee , we have our favorite cafe’s who serves good coffee’s , unfortunately , some of them have closed shop as well .
